Charging / external microphone cable test

Sounds as if the adapter cable was made for stereo mics.
On windows just do a right click at the video file and check the properties. There you can find information about the audio (mono/stereo), if you want to check if everything went right or not.

You know what? I should know better and I think you hit the nail on the head there.

The adapter cable came with the mic. It's a stereo mic. That pretty well answers the question.

The other mic was garbage anyway, or at least didn't think that being cozied up under my cheek padding was good enough wind protection.

Might have to look for a better one or get a dead cat or something.
