For best video recording result It is essential to keep your car windscreen clean also from INSIDE ( not only from outside ).

@niko what do you use to clean the inside of your windshield?

I've tried several products, but they tend to leave a film on the glass.

I am using Auto Glym Fast Glass.
Most ammonia-free glass cleaners should do the job, but of course specialised auto care product would be preferable.

Check out Invisible Glass. It was first recommended to me by a glass repair shop and it is the best product I've found. Will leave no residue.

BTW, it used to be hard to find outside of specialty shops but is now widely available in places like Walmart.

That cleaner is really awesome! When I was at a camera forum a couple years ago they were discussing what was used by some of the professionals and the consolidated vote was for Invisible Glass by a company called Stoner. I bought a lot of it when Sam's warehouse put it on sale, I believe Costco also sells it also.

Nico you did a great job of putting the videos together.

Thanks. I wanted to do this review long time ago, because I know how bad can be driving with dusty / dirty inside windshield especially in sunny days. Just needed to wait til some dust collects on windshield, which took some time.

I really hate cleaning the inside of my windscreen. Some of them requires you to get in awkward shape to get over large dash and shallow angled windscreen. Even then, not everyone can easily reach every corner of the windscreen. If only I could pop the windscreen off, then it'd be easier to wipe it down but it's not designed to come off now and then, it's designed for permanent mounting.

Maybe you need a windshield cleaning tool? :) You'll find many available on Amazon.

Same here. This is one of the unpleasant and in some way hardest jobs on the car. You have to be a circus acrobat :)

I have tried similar tool. While it may work for some light "dusting", nothing is as effective as direct contact of your palm with windshield where you can control every move and apply force to different areas depending on needs.

I would agree. I don't use such a tool myself.

Try applying the cleaning solution on the cloth, then putting the cloth on top of your hand instead of the palm. Clean one way inside of the window, and the opposite direction on the other. Then if you see streaks you will know immediately whether it is inside or not. Using the top of your hand inside makes the process quick and efficient.

That's the way I do it.

Correct, I do it exactly same way, especially at the bottom part where windshield meets dash.

If you're set on using your palm side to wipe the windshield, you can try facing backwards too and using the "backhand" method. This way you are able to reach the bottom without trouble. It feels silly at first but it does work quite well.

Tried this, and you are right, it maybe more comfortable to reach bottom places on passenger side, however over steering wheel dash area it is hard to use this technique, and also it is harder to control what you do when your body facing side ways and you have to turn head to the side. Maybe good job for younger generation, or circus acrobat but not for me any more ;)
