The current Panorama firmware doesn't have DayLight Savings Time correction. (1 hour offset)

Daylight Saving Time (United States) 2014 began at 2:00 AM on
Sunday, March 9
and ends at 2:00 AM on
Sunday, November 2

Between these dates all owners of the Panorama G or Panorama II, S with GPS attached should act accordingly.

If you live in California (Time Zone -08) Set your Time Zone to -07 instead.
If you live in New York (Time Zone -05) Set your Time Zone to -04 instead.

You can use normal time zone come November 2

This isn't needed in Asia of course.

Please rename the title of this thread to

Consolidated Panorama II, S & G FAQ & useful links

They are so close to each other, no need to have separate threads really.

All clips are seamlessly played back and or exported (gap free) as one continuous video via
http://www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html
You can select the part you want, save as MP4, done.

That's for Windows only. (for playback and editing)

Playback only for Mac is http://dashcamviewer.com

I finally was able to get my firmware set up but am having difficulty figuring out what the best setting for driving at night should be. The video that was posted with the earlier firmware showed more of a purple filter which seemed to work quite well. I'm having difficulty reducing street light glare and was wondering if there is a better setting to use on the device.

If I am posting to the incorrect thread please let me know.

These are good Panorama S FAQ additions. If you want the violet/purple enhanced night mode go ahead and install S firmware 1.12.03

https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/calibrated-g-sensor-firmware-12-15-21mbps-bit-rate-v1-12-03.4651/

How to: https://dashcamtalk.com/powerucc-panoramaii/#Firmware

Here is a comparison of 1.12.06 (natural brown night tones) vs 1.12.03 (violet/purple enhanced night detail tones). Some people prefer one over the other. I suggested a night enhance mode option be selectable in the settings menu but I think that it's easier said than done. (So two separate firmware choices are the best we can do for now)

https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/Panorama-2---S-v1.12.04-(v1.12.03)-vs-v1.12.06-Day---Night-Comparison.5396/

Are you using a CPL filter?

Optional PANOCPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) Side By Side Comparisons. (no-CPL on top/with-CPL on bottom)

Thank you have downloaded the night enhanced firmware and will try that. I did not purchase a CPL filter with the camera, I did not know that it would be necessary.

Some things cannot be discovered until put into use.

While I have you, I was wondering if the S2 model is GPS capable. It has the port on the side of the device marked as a GPS antenna jack. The product sheet for the unit lists GPS as being optional but I'm not sure what that exactly means. I see that it detects motion and lists motion variables but if I get a GPS antenna will it add speed, position and other data into the video file?

Also have a question about G motion settings. Is a High G force setting mean that it is more sensitive to G force or does it mean that it takes a lot of G force to trigger an event? It would be nice to know the difference

All you need is to purchase the external GPS unit. It's a box smaller than a box of matches. It will add speed and location to the recording, which, when played back in Registrator Viewer you can plot your trip on a map. It's helpful if you want to go to a location event, rather than trying to search the timing of the trip you can click on the map to find the footage.

The G force settings are for the sensitivity. High sensitivity means it'll register almost anything, including speed humps and potholes. If you hear your camera chirping and regularly recording events, try setting it to low.

The GPS logger arrived and works flawlessly. I am curious though, how much more data does it add to a file? It logged my trip but I'm not sure if it's the upgraded firmware from 15 to 18 that is filling my card or if it's additional data from the GPS.

Dumb Question.
The FWs linked here, guessing they are good for the G also?
I have no real desire to brick mine at this time. Lol.

What's known about Sony's Exmor 2.0 vs. IMX322? Why is the IMX322 still a thing?
