Constant Power Cable OP100

As I replied to you in another thread, the OP100 cannot power the EP100 at all. The OP100 OBD-II power adapter can only supply power to a dash camera.
Strike 3 I think you meant EP BP100 🙂

Is there any pictures of pins utilized on this VIOFO OBD2? I can't find a picture anywhere.
I'm curious which pins it's using. Typically I see three pins on these various OBD2 wires.
I'm not sure what pin numbers are compatible with VIOFO.
Thanks

I with they made a simple USB Type-C tester that would tell you which pins are connected by wires inside.
Do you mean something like this

The OBD2 connector uses 3 pins.
Pins 16, 4 and 5 on the prerelease unit Viofo kindly supplied.

I tried to follow all the comments before. If I have misunderstood something and am repeating it, I apologise in advance. I also have the pleasure of testing the OP100. VIOFO also provided the ACC cable, which I am using. There are some things that are unclear to me.
First: The OP100 detects a collision and switches from parking mode to normal recording mode. However, the emergency recording is not activated, and thanks to privacy mode (welcome to Germany), the recording will not be locked. How should this be handled?
Secondly, as the OP described, the start and end of parking mode works on motion detection, even when this mode is not activated. For example: While the engine is running, the camera is normally recording. When stuck in traffic, I experienced the cam suddenly jumping into parking mode. The other way around: The camera is shut off while the car is parked. When I set off from the underground garage, it takes up to five seconds for the camera to start recording properly. Why does the kit not detect the engine starting, as with other hardwire kits?

I'm still interested to read about other users' experiences and find out what VIOFIO has planned next.

Sorry forgot to add this will be used with a A329T camera.

(PS- how do you edit a post? cannot find anywhere to do it)

You have to be a member for a certain number of posts or a certain amount of time (I'm not sure which) before you can edit.
I can't answer your E43 question but I'm sure there is someone smarter-er than me out there who can 🤓
Welcome to the Forum!

I am running the OP100 to a VIOFO A329S using the cable that came with the OP100. I gather this is not the "Optional Parking Mode Cable" on VIOFO's page,*
but I do have a question about this combination's behavior in a 2026 Toyota. When parking mode is turned OFF in the VIOFO app, and the A329S has been running while the car is on, when I turn the car off, the cam keeps running for 3:30, then shuts off. Is the OP100 or the A329S recognizing that the car is off and turning the camera off? I assume the car's pin 16 in the OBD-II remains powered when car is off but I haven't tested that.

*VIOFO's page on the OP100 implies there are important added parking functions available with the "Optional Parking Mode Cable" but what are they? configurable voltage cut-off? and when can this "Optional Parking Mode Cable" be ordered?

It's the OP100 seeing the vehicle voltage level has entered into and stays in the 12V to 13.5V range and the OP100 detects the vehicle has been "stationary" and no impacts have occurred for 200-seconds. When those conditions are met, the OP100 will turn off the ACC power signal to the dash camera. When the ACC signal turns off, the A329S enters the selected parking mode or it will power down if there is no parking mode enabled in the settings. Pin 16 of the OBD-II data link connector port is fed constant power and should not turn off unless there is a vehicle battery issue or if the fuse that protects that circuit has blown.

VIOFO just released a YouTube video showing the OP100 in action with an A329S dash camera. They use low power impact detection as the parking mode in their example, but the same applies to any of the parking modes available for the A329S.

Thanks.
Using the wire that is included with the OP100, if parking mode turned on in app, it runs for 3 hours minimum - unless the car battery reaches the 12v cutoff threshold in the OP100?

Any word on when the optional cable is available and how it should be different?

Thanks.

The parking mode timer switch lets you select 3-hours, 24-hours, or an "infinite" [timer disabled] amount of time. If the vehicle voltage level on pin 16 of the OBD-II data link connector port goes below 12V for around 90-seconds, the power to the dash camera is turned off. The exact vehicle voltage level the OP100 turns off the power to the dash camera can vary a bit since every low voltage cut-off feature [not just in the OP100] uses components that have a voltage tollerance of +/- 0.1V to 0.2V.

I'm not sure what you mean by optional cable. Although, the VIOFO website uses the word optional for the OP100-to-dashcam power cable. When you purchase the OP100, you must select either the USB-C or Mini-USB version of the OP100-to-dashcam power cable. The OP100 has two power ports. The USB Type-A port is where the dash camera power cable plugs into the OP100 and the USB Type-C port can be used for providing power to devices like your phone. Both OP100 dash camera power cable types are available now. I would image that VIOFO will primarily sell the USB-C version of the dash camera power cable, but the mini-USB version is available if you have an older VIOFO dash camera that has that type of power connector on the dash camera/mount.

The verbiage on VIOFO's page for the OP100 does describe as optional two choices of cable for it - since I didn't order any separate, "optional" cable I assumed it was indeed different than the one that shipped with the OP100 I received. I asked VIOFO about this directly and never received a response.

The minimum time of 3 hrs for parking mode is longer than I'd prefer, and the 12 volt cutoff is lower than I'd prefer. I know the HK6 cable has shorter cut-off times and higher voltage cut-offs, but it would be nice to see the OP100 with those options. If I'm using parking mode for a quick run into a store, it's a difference without a difference, but I'd really prefer to have the voltage cutoff be higher.

Thanks again for helping clarify the above, I appreciate it.
