That is not correct. I just checked the TVs in my house (all being LCDs) and 1 of the 3 is polarized 45 degrees off from the other 2.

must be inconvenient for people at your house when trying to watch TV with their sunglasses on :p

You laugh (justifiably) but that happened not too long ago. My wife had eye surgery and was wearing sunglasses in the house for a short period. She quickly learned the difference between polarized and non-polarized sunglasses.
