Dashcam comes on at random moments.

Hello everybody,

I recently purchased 2 dashcams. I hardwire (hot on ignition) the 1st on my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE and it works like a charm.

I also hardwired the 2nd one on my wife's 2013 Ford Focus SE and it turns on at random moments. I installed it with a fuse tap in the "SYNC navigation/entertainment" unit.

More specifically:
1) It continues to record some times after she turns the car off and locks it.
2) This morning it started recording out of the blue at 7:00 AM. My wife did not go near the car until 7:30 AM. The car is street parked.

Any ideas of what is going on?

Sound like the camera are on a fuse that's always on since it can come on when the car are parked, and then you might have motion detect or some parking guard feature on.
