NextBase 202 Lite
Hi all. I have acquired an unused NextBase 202 Lite (genuine reason), but it's battery appears to be dead. I have been searching the forums and reading through the appropriate threads, and it appears to be a common trait. So my questions are: is a replacement battery still available, and is it economically viable to replace said battery? Will this dash cam (when working) provide a video quality which meets current evidential standards here in the UK. Or is it basically SNAFU'd, and should I just bin it and get something more reliable?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi @Teutonic_Tamer

We ceased manufacture of those almost 4 years ago so any battery will be at least that old. If you like we can send you the spec/instructions on replacing? Pop an email to support@nextbase.co.uk and we'll send them over.

Cam manufacturers don't make the batteries, so you can probably find a new one in the size you need elsewhere. Here's a link which shows some sizes:
https://www.lipolbattery.com/lithium polymer battery.html
There's a scheme to LiPo battery numbers which is shown here
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2425315-LiPo-battery-physical-size-nomenclature
so you can measure your battery then find a similar one. Using an aftermarket battery will probably require some soldering, and a slightly smaller one will likely work if you can't find the exact one you have now.
