Hello everyone.

My GPS mount is dead, now its doesn't work at all.
Befor the death it did forced the dvr to shut down few times. None of the files recorded when it happen.
Take a look at this video,
Ive cropped the video to not expose my parking location and gps data.
I can send viofo full video if he want.

The dvr powerd via vico power plus.
Cut power off on 50 degrees celsius.

My guess that the mount cooked.
The dvr work great when i power it via main usb port.

Maby the gps mount have different operation temperature?

I would like tho hear your poinions about it.

Best regards,
Alex

Edit:
After this video was filmed, there was two corrupt files than the dvr was off.
When ive came to check the dvr, it was at default settings.

Off topic question, If a car use start and stop system, the dvr lose power and the file split/ end record.
Does it harm the dvr if its repeating ?

if your car has stop start system and the camera is turning off when this happens you're wired to the wrong circuit, find a circuit that doesn't behave like this

Maby the gps mount have different operation temperature?

operating temp of the GPS is higher than the camera

best to talk to the seller about having the GPS replaced

The question is not about my car, some one asked me this question.
The dvr, doesn't turn off. Its just stop recording and start new recording 6 sec after power drop.
Ive alos suggested him to find other circuit. Hope it will help him

Ive got it as sample in exchange for honest review.
So its not an option.

But thanx any way!

Hmm, i just dont feel comfortable to make that request because its freebie.
Anyway that seller doesn't sell the monut separately.

you think the seller would prefer a review that says you didn't test all the functions because the GPS mount died or one that says you had a problem with the GPS and the seller sent you a new one?

I understand your approach.
Ive started this topic to give people some information about the behavior whenever the GPS mount will start to die and to inform viofo.

Who know, maby few more people have the same problem and no one report about it.
They just contact with the seller and get replacement or refund.

So you now you can power on from GPS USB port?
You can ask the seller to send a replacement USB port.

No, now its completely dead.
Ive checked, there is no voltage on the contact pins.

OK, better to contact the seller to send you a replacement mount.

Hi,

It looks like I have similar issue. However mine GPS mount is alive, but it always forces A119 to switch off with fading out. GPS pins (first and last) give 5.02V , but camera does not work with GPS mount and everything is correct without it.

Did replacement GPS module fixed your problem?

Hello everyone.
Because of this post :https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/21578/
I had feeling that ive missed something, ive double checked if there is voltage on the contact pins of the monut, and there is!
Guess ive dident test it correctly, can blame only my self.
Anyway, Ive opend the dvr and as expected, same problem with the rainbow cable.

Its really important to fix this issue on next bunch.
As a user, i cant rely on dvr that can lose power any moment because of this problem.

For GPS mount, the only issue we confirmed until now, it is some mounts have short pin which cause no connection with PCB, we replaced mounts for those users, this mainly exist in early batch.
For powering issue for GPS mount, we are still checking.
