Does upgrading firmware really require a <32GB card?

I've had an A119 for a couple weeks now, and I see there's a new firmware, but the Viofo website instructs to use a 32GB max card. I bought a 64GB card, so am I out of luck here?
 
it will install from a 64gb card that is correctly formatted, it's generally safer to tell people to use a 32gb card to avoid problems
 
no you don't need a 32GB card I have done it with a 64GB with no issues.
 
I've done it from a 2GB card I had laying around rather than use my 64GB data card. It worked fine.
