The BlackVue DR650GW-HD English firmware has been upgraded to Ver1.001



[Key improvements] DR650GW-HD



1. Speed Alert function
1) Function note : The function that makes the alert sound to inform the user as the user is reached to the set speed.
(The files, recorded after the alert sound, will be saved in event format)
2) How to set : Setting on PC viewer or App -> Sensitivity Setting -> Speed Alert(k/m, mph, off) -> Insert the Speed -> Additional Setting -> Check for Speed Alert Sound
* This option only works under the normal GPS signal.


2, Personal Information Registration function
1) Function note : The function that allow users to type-in their own characters(license plate number and etc) on the recorded video.
(Characters will be appeared on the top left corner of the video)
2) How to set : Setting on PC viewer or App -> Additional Setting -> Personal Information Registration -> Enter characters and letters
3) Character range : Under 20 characters, combination of Capital letters(A~Z), Numbers(0~9), Symbols( : ; ‘ / \ + - _ ( ) $ # )


3. Time Synchronization fuction
1) Function note : The function that allows the time on Blackvue to be synchronized to the time on the smartphone.
2) How to set : Access on App -> Setting -> General Setting -> Run “Time Synchronization”


4. Language Change (Applied on Window)
1) Function note : The function that allows to change the languages within the available language range
2) How to set up : Setting on PC viewer or App -> Select language on the “Language” on the top right
2) Language Support : English/Russian/Chinese/Japanese/German/Spanish/French/Italian
* Language change is only available on Windows viewer. Implementation on Mac viewer is in progress.

1.Support for FOTA Upgrade

1)Functional Description
-FOTA(Firmware-Over-The-Air) is literally the function that allows the firmware upgrade over the Wi-Fi.
-Your firmware upgrade through FOTA function on BlackVue App will be easier and more convenient than using PC.

2)How to use
a.Please press the [Firmware Download] button after running the BlackVue App on the smartphone with internet access enabled.
b.Please select the model name and the language and press [OK].
c.Firmware information will be appeared on the smartphone, firmware download will be proceeded as you press [OK].
d.Please connect your smartphone with BlackVue unit through Wi-Fi when the firmware download is completed.
e.[Firmware Upgrade] menu will be appeared when you click “Setting” on the upper menu on BlackVue App.
?[Firmware Upgrade] menu only appears when the firmware upgrade is necessary on the phone.
f.Please transfer upgraded firmware to the BlackVue unit by running [Firmware Upgrade] menu.
g.BlackVue App will be disconnected and the BlackVue unit will be re-booted as the firmware transfer is completed.
h.The recording voice of “BlackVue will be upgraded” will be spoken after 2 minutes of standby(the firmware-unzipping time),
and the BlackVue’s starting voice(“Blackvue for your safe driving, starting normal recording”) will be spoken after the upgrade is completed and the unit is fully re-booted.

3)Notes
-FOTA upgrade will be available after firmware 2.004 version is installed on the BlackVue unit.
-Please use the SD card when upgrading from 2.003 to 2.004 version, otherwise error might occur with FOTA upgrade.
Please do not turn off the power until the system is fully rebooted itself, since FOTA upgrade takes about 4 minutes.

I am sure bumping up bitrate /dynamic range to 12~19Mbps will help improving recording quality. Hope they port custom firmware to 650 soon.
