I purchased a G1W-CB, branded blueskysea, from estore009 within the past month.
It is the real deal and overall I'm happy with the performance.
One issue I have is it shuts down if I delay at ACC and allow the camera to full boot before starting the engine.
The install is in a 2nd Gen Tacoma and I've found a thread over in tacomaworld where someone had the exact same issue (with a G1W-C). The solution was tapping a fuse where there was constant power during engine start and this solved the problem.
I moved to to that exact fuse and yet it still shuts down at engine start. So I'm troubleshooting the possible differences. We are wired exactly the same and have similar model cameras (hardware).
My question for the experts is if there was any voltage detection changes in firmware for the G1W-C(B) line that would have solved this issue.
I reached out to estore009 for the latest firmware from the MFG, but they were reluctant to say the least. They finally sent me 2015.1012.11 and said it was the latest (and they take no responsibility if I flash it, very reassuring, ha). BUT the camera already has 2015.1109.11 on it already, which by date notation is newer. They also said they did not have a copy of 2015.1109.11, so I can't flash back if firmware doesn't work.
So what to do?? Try the "latest" firmware in hopes it solves the voltage drop issue? Does anyone have any experience with either of these firmware or warnings about them? Does anyone have a copy of 2015.1109.11?? Does anyone know of a different firmware that solves this issue?
Any and all help/suggestions are appreciated.
Pictures just for fun.
