So my suction cup mount broke from the rubber suction thing to the plastic stand. I guess the glue holding it wore off from the 100F heat. I will like to know where can I get a easy removeable mount and that's more reliable. I don't want to go with an adhesive mount because I might be replacing my windshield due to rocks hitting it and it cracked. I am right now super glueing it back together but I think a new and more reliable mout will be better.

Thanks :)

I used one of these for my G1W-H and found it much preferable to the suction cup mount. May not work for you depending on the specifics of your rear view mirror.

Nope wont work. My ls400 has a light sensor behind the mirror, the camera will block it. My mirror is also more thicker than other cars.

My SRX has a light sensor as well. I was able to get things positioned so the everything functioned. You could still go with an adhesive mount and just buy some 3M VHB tape if you have to move it to a new windshield.

Same as the one that came with my cam, only issue is that it started moving a bit after a while, put some paper between the mount and the cam and it's tight now.
Can you show me where you put the paper because my cam does shake also and it is really annoying.

I guess I can do that. Im guessing I will just peel it off the windshield then remove the rest on the mount, then get some 3M tape and cut it so it fits my mount and just place that on?

That's the idea. Stuff sticks really good so it's tough to get off but not impossible - just takes a bit of work. Using a piece of string or dental floss to 'saw' through it works pretty well then what's left can be 'rolled' off.

The only ball mount I had trouble with was the 'double articulated' type -
The issue was I couldn't tighten it enough to keep it rigid.
That exactly what "kills" them all. The nuts (or the screw, in your case) don't tighten the balls properly and you're forced to tighten them a little bit more so they won't move. Since the plastic they use is rubbish, they easily break.
These ones are much better:

My G1W-H came with one of these and it went through Summer without any problems.

Disagree that it 'kills them all'. ;)

I've used one of these and had zero issues -

The 'double articulated' one had issues because the balls themselves were smaller than the other two and the thumbscrew used to tighten was too small to get good leverage on so it could not tighten sufficiently.

I said from the beginning that I was talking from my experience with the one that came with the G1W, not from the ones sold online, which seem to be much better made.

Someone else a long time ago told me to stay away from the old G1WH suction cup mounts. So far the mount I got off of eBay has a tight grip and the shaking is gone compared to my old factory mount.

I also had the same issue that @ThePro had with the suction-cup mount but with this one it seems to be good.
