First post in the forum. Did not find this topic in a thread.
Have a Garmin Dash Cam 65 hardwired (using Garmin Parking Mode Cable) since 2017. The speaker of the Dash Cam stopped making sounds in 2018. Otherwise the cam works fine, records etc. The display works fine with visuals of Lane departure Warning, Red light cam warnings etc. I cannot make the speaker work / 'turn on'. So I do not hear these warnings.

Any thoughts about a solution / fix?

Thanks in advance.

First thing to check is the volume level in settings.
If the volume is up and still no sound, I would recommend factory reset.
Does the cam beep at startup?

Volume level setting is at 100%. The camera does not beep at startup. Will do the factory reset.

I have done the factory reset by holding down the power button for 12 seconds.
Is the correct procedure?

I did the device reset as above, followed by factory reset.
No change in behavior. The Garmin Dash Cam 65w speaker is silent.

Not sure if 12 seconds is enough. Were all the custom settings reset to their defaults?
Maybe time to call Garmin support.
Also, if out of warranty, you can disassemble and fix yourself. I posted some internal pics here a while ago.

The custom settings were are reset to factory defaults.
Could be internal speaker issues.
Please point to the post where I can find the internal pics.
Thanks.

I discussed symptoms and steps with Garmin support. We thought that it is pointing to internal speaker failure.
Garmin support offered Goodwil exchange with a re-furbished item with free 2 way shipping.
I installed replacement camera. Working now as expected.
Garmin support was great for an out of warranty (almost 4 years) dash cam.
