Git2 Photo thread

Don't forget the Git2 can also take excellent 16MP Photos, lets have some more in this thread!

Here are 2 that I took yesterday:

Those are both with the IR filter removed, the 1st using IR+visible light and then the red and green channels swapped, the 2nd with just IR 720 light and the rest removed by a filter. They may look more processed/artificial than that but I didn't actually do much more, this is what the Git2 produces when you give it IR.

moonlight needs at thse kind of photos.
night photos poor.
the others great.

Converted from Raw
That is an excellent photo of the sun - looks really bright as it should do, with good shadows in the foreground :)

Do you guys have any suggestions for a good free RAW editor for OSX?

Powerful Rawtherapee:

But you need to use win\pc applications from GitUp site to convert RAW (Git2) to DNG before.
http://www.gitup.com/en/blog/21_How-to-use-the-RAW-file-on-Git2-.html

At this moment i have no access to OS X, but i sometimes using RawTherapee on Linux and Windows and both of those have OS X port.
As @tmvideo said, you need to convert RAW to DNG and tool is only for Windows - it looks like really simple application and maybe it could be possible to run it under OS X port of Wine - you can try to run it via Winebottler.
Also there is simple batch script for correcting red color in converted DNG - it is based on exiftool. There is exiftool binary for OS X, so you can try to rewrite windows bat to OS X bash script, or try it also via Winebottler.

Also there is UFRaw GIMP plugin and it is part of OS X port of GIM
Antoher RAW editor for all platforms is Darktable.

But essential is convert RAW to DNG so try first if there is possible to run converter under Wine (Winebottler).

OS X port of GIMP with UFRaw: http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/News/News.html or http://partha.com
Darktable: http://www.darktable.org
Winebottler: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org

Also you can try Lightzone or PhotoFlow....

Pretty nice overview of Open Source graphics software is there: https://pixls.us/software/

If somebody is interested with Windows port of Darktable it is possible to find it here http://partha.com

My favorite Open Source Raw Editor is RawTherapee..

There is no real need to run that color correction script, it does not change the raw data, only the default white balance for the image.

Example of barrel distortion correction with ImageMagick convert
Code:
convert "inputfilename" -distort barrel 0.10,-0.32,0 "outputfilename"

Don't often get to take photos like this here so the settings were guesswork, not too bad for 2:20AM, jpg photo, 15 seconds @ ISO 800:
