gs900 window mount

I am having a hard time getting the gs9000 to stay stuck to the window. Usually these suction mounts have a lever to create the suction. My doesn't stay mounted more than 5 minutes. Do i just need to clean the area with an alcohol pad and try again. any other suggestions

my Gs9000 suction mount has a turning ring on it. it has two positions: unlock and lock. so, before placing it on a window, you should turn the ring into unlock position, then attach to the window tightly and turn ring to lock position. after this it's almost impossible to de-attach it without turning the ring back to unlock position

You have to REALLY turn it to the left with a bit of force, so that it is all the way open - then place it on windscreen, and turn all the way right, with a bit of force, innitially i didnt and kept falling off every bump on the road - but when i put some force into it - it has been now 2 months (on the black dots bit aswell) and strong as ever!!!!!
