Hi all,
I am having problems doing the hardwire install in my Thinkware F200 Pro dashcam
Details:
Location: UK
Car: VW Passat B6 (2008) Right Hand Drive, Diesel 2.0 TDI CR
I have been using my dashcam without any problems using the cigarette lighter, but wanted to do a proper hardwire installation.
I used the hardwire kit that came in the box.
Installation:
Earth cable (Black) is bolted to upper chassis frame.
Testing:
I have used a meter to check all contact points, crimps and the DC jack
Cigarette Voltage: 11.94v
Hardwire Voltage: 11.94v
Problem:
The dashcam does not turn on when I plug in the hardwired cable, I have waited 5 minutes in case it needs to charge capacitance but nothing happens.
When I connect it back to the Cigarette connection, it powers on in approx 5 seconds
Any ideas or suggestions welcomed.
I am not a professional installer, but I did the same process with my Nextbase dashcam on an Audi and I had no problems
