Yeah you can still have to good sensor in a camera, and then cheap everything else.
Why ppl do that is unknown cuz when you are there you might as well go with a even cheaper sensor cuz the performance of the good sensor will be held back by the other stuff.
You can have a ferrari and put a WV passat motor in it, it will look like a ferrari but it will not drive or sound like one.
