Is low bitrate parking mode supposed to change resolution?

Hey I record in 4K in normal mode with my camera and in parking mode I have low bitrate mode. Now I thought low bitrate mode just made the videos have less bitrate but still kept their same resolution. When I look, my front parking videos are in 1440p instead of 4K.

Is this intended?
 
Yes, since firmware v2.5 (or so), Viofo decided to decrase the resolution to fight overheating while parked.

But If I remember correctly, somebody claimed that if you change the resolution in parking mode, you should be able to record in 4k again.
 
Apparently there's a new firmware from VIOFO that allows to use 4K parking but I tried it and it doesn't work.

Has anyone else had success?
