got one about 3 months ago,
went to traffic school to take it off record.
now that i have DashCam Going i find my self a better driver, knowing i record myself
I Drive a Merz is the Problem, its not Me, and i Hate to Loose. Now Find Myself a Little More Calm of a driver with Cams Running, Less Eager to Take the Mental's on
at 120 mph. i know some will think i'm Crazy and Dangerous, but my Record is Clean, No Accidents, and Not Scratch on the Car is What I Go By.

Cam Alerts,

cant they remember where they are? why then need a alert to tell them,
you mean they speed faster between the alerts and slow down when there is a beep and then speed up if they get away with it and slow down with another beep
and folks that don't know get caught. is that the deal?
either you have this device or you dont and get tickets.

is that what is going on?

I find it makes you more conscious of your own driving, what can exonerate you can also implicate you just as easily ;)

not even close, you can't possibly know where all the cameras are, it's just a reminder, it has no relationship to how fast you are traveling when it reminds you, just your physical location
 
DOES IT GIVE TICKETS, ? or is it just a reminder // what does it do that a speed sign does not?
still cant figure UK Roads you mention lots of cams? are there that many, How Often? All Over, Thousands? Everywhere?

we have them but only here and there, not that many. Certain Cities have Them Not All. and they are Big and Ugly Types easily seen at intersections and be remembered
and they dont change locations. i avoid those routes. This UK Cam Alert Machine on the Road does it do more than just alert or does it take a photo and send the bill.
we have Highway Patrol and Cops Use Lidar Radar no alerts, uses light beam, another reason i drive better, can only go to traffic school every 18 months

me being the leader of the pack, guess who he got? not the bus or jackass
regular radar detectors wont pick it up (obsolete)
Takes a New Lidar Detector / interceptor it's Expensive $450 t0 $850

Next New DASHCAM NEEDS Lidar Built In / avoiding just 1 Ticket Covers the Extra Expense!

bells and whistles and gimmicks that dont work is out!
features that benefits for the users is whats in.

I use a Valentine 1. It senses both radar and laser. If you get a max signal on laser, there is no saving you, you're already caught. But it can detect bounced signals from other cars, giving you a warning.

direct opposite lead wires on the other end of board.
It Broke Off before i could get a photo of it on the board.

Maybe the audio issue is simply bad soldering?
Looks like the mic goes in the small cutout at the bottom edge of the board, facing downward with the mic leads soldered sideways onto the two bare solder spots.
 
the sound is low and muffled for all K1S users. not just mine,
Factory Knows about it and sells that way.

not waiting for some dashcam company to add useful features when i can do it myself
its been 13 years and most still use suction cups, with big ugly units up front.
yeah right i am dreaming if anything better is soon around the corner, im doing my own setup

I already got 2 small cams and dvr. where to next?
when i get done it will shoot pepper spray / someone messes with my system
 
LIDAR i need to do loads of research, but this is where i am heading
cant afford another ticket. some would say Slow Down!
yeah right and drive behind the idiots? i need to stay ahead of them.......

why i need a Smart Dash Cam. Record the Jackass on the Back + Stop the Ticket Writer on the Front
 
I would think recording audio is crucial when you get pulled over by a cop. With its weak/no audio problem, the K1S has a huge hole in it's security monitoring value. You might not want audio recording 24/7 but it would be nice to know the option is there and can be unmuted on demand.

maybe add a Mobius inside to record driver interactions and also be recording audio

like the electric door handles, great suggestion to consider.

the genius he don't have the pepper spray system or stun gun electronics to protect the car. Most car alarms only honk a horn. imagine using your smart phone and gassing the criminal, shoot him 10,000 volts, then see him on the ground? i know already folks are going to say i am the one who will end up in trouble, hurting the poor fellow with excessive force.

i know and do realize what a loss it can be not able to record currently. i guess will have to keep a handy pad and pen to take notes or add a mini recorder and keep it handy. They are small and can clip to sun visor. YES the sound is Very Important, but Not Too Great when Arguing with the Girlfriend.

google it, a community based app for smartphones and the radar unit. it allows you to drive and know whats going on to avoid " the man" Reviews Are most say not enough on it using it posting data to make it good. Some Say it Needs to Merge with Waze. Its not Ready for Prime Time in small towns or cities but in larger metros, many users adding inputs it might work

LIDAR is hard to beat, your too late by the time you know, it takes a " Jammer" to do it, where you mess up the signal the cop gets,
but he will know you did that, then what? It's Illegal in 12 States. California is one of them.

Best Advice is Drive the Speed Limit as much as possible or stay in the middle of the pack at higher speeds.

My business partner has an Escort, works very well and the app is nice. It's a good high end solution. Cobra is entry level stuff.
