Hey guys.

Had my mini 0806 for a week now. Originally had it on cig lighter. But this morning hardwired it in all was working perfectly. Was playing around with motion detection etc then came back to the car later on and the camera wouldn't turn on.

The blue LED is light up saying its charging but the screen won't turn on. Ive tried holding the power button and other buttons etc. But nothing works. tried a few different cables etc. Stil nothing.

Any ideas guys! THanks.

Hold the power button for 20 seconds for reset.

Do you have it powered continuously, or only when the ignition is on?

Can you unplug it from the hardwire kit and plug the adapter back in? - you can take it off the mount and plug the adaptor in the top.

It is wired to the fuse of my cig lighters, so it comes on when i get into the car and stays on for 10 minutes after i lock the car then powers off.

Ive tried powering it off my phone charger same connector which i used before when 1st getting it to play around with it.

I've tried holding it for 20 seconds, doesn't do anything. Either plugged in or not. Just the blue light lights up showing its charging.

I'm new to forum so Hello.
I too have the same problem with this mini 0806 camera. Mine wont turn on at all either plugged into gps cradle and hard wire kit in my car, OR even in the house on my computer. I have tried the reset by holding power button for 20 seconds, and still nothing. I sure it has died on me. nothing lights up
My camera was shipped to me on 12/02/2015 on the 22/08/2015 it packed up totaly. I bought it from Joovoo.
Reading the small print it only comes with 6 month warranty. Not Happy, 10 day out of warranty its kaput.
I have contacted Joovuu and they said it would be up to manufacturer if it was to be repaired/replaced
I'm still waiting on an outcome
If it can't be sorted I will have to look at a different model and one that has a longer warranty and from a different supplier, because at the moment I have no confidence in Joovuu.

Doesn't sound good...
What did you use to hardwire it?
Was it definitely getting 5 volts and not 12 volts?

I think it should have a 1 year manufacturer warrantee, I'm surprised Joovuu don't also give a 1 year warrantee?

I think it's quite likely the battery has died, if you can't get it fixed then try fitting a new battery if you are able to use a soldering iron.
Do you get the charging LED light up?

I have the hard wire kit, which turns it to 5vs yes.

I used the hard wire kit that came bundled with the camera from Joovuu
It has been working fine for last 6 months.

No charging light at all. nothing lights up
The impression I get form Joovuu is they are not that interested

Mines only a week old!
I would be contacting your supplier Simon, get it sorted under warranty. If they offer a refund I would personally take it as these cameras seem to have to many problems

Yeah i am tempted. But the size of this etc is so perfect but yeah quite a few issues. I've emailed the seller, it was off amazon and seems they're chinese. But i have until 21st to just print off a label and send it back for a full refund via amazon. so will just do that if the thing doesn't magically work.

I have just been looking at some other posts on this forum, Probably is the battery on mine. if I cant get it sorted I'm tempted to fit another battery myself.

Amazon are usually pretty good for refunds, That's what i would do.

Thanks Nigel
If I can't get it sorted I will try a new battery. I have just searched on this forum about changing battery its worth a try for around a Β£5 Might have to get a new soldering iron though as my old one is a bit on the large size for the job in hand

A dying battery - one that won't hold very much charge - will make these act flakey. A DEAD battery - that provides no voltage at all - will cause the unit to not power up. It's the same as trying to run it w/o a battery - which they won't/can't do.

I'm going through this with one of mine right now. While frustrating, ultimately it's a rather trivial thing, and quite easy to rectify if you have the time, talent, patience and tools.

But would you expect this to happen with a week old unit? I really don't think it should fail so suddenly.

Ive had it on charge for a few hours now and it still won't do anything.

Agreed with Jokinn, if an exchange is available as an option, that may be the safest way to go. As for when batteries fail, in short, anytime. It may be DOA, a week, 6 months, 5 years. I think that's a crap-shoot at best.

Just like a cell phone or car battery, sometimes they fail prematurely. The battery on one of my Blackvue cameras was 4 years old when I upgraded the camera. As far as I know, it's still going strong with my brother-in-law (to whom I gave the camera).

By contrast, my 6-month old 2015 Toyota Highlander was just in for routine maintenance, and they discovered that the battery had a failed cell. They replaced it (warranty, of course).

As I've mentioned in other posts, I have a number of the 0806's (9 of them) - they're all about 4 weeks old at this point. I've had an issue with the GPS mount on one, and a battery that has failed on another. With those two exceptions, everything else about these cameras has been spectacular. Granted, I've only had them for a month. Come back in a year, and you may find me cursing the brand. Who knows.

To send a camera back to China for me, costs about USD20.00. Since I bought mine for cheap from a no-name seller on AliExpress, I didn't expect to have much service. However, when my mount went bad, I contacted the seller and they immediately sent me a new one. They didn't ask for the original one back. When the charge on one camera would last but for 3 or 4 seconds after being unplugged, they sent me a battery, no questions. They did offer that I return it for a new camera, but I don't mind the technical challenge, and I didn't want to wait another couple of weeks to get it working.

I actually ordered a replacement battery from eBay to get it quicker. It was US8. When the other one arrives from China, I'll store it as a spare for when (not if) one of the other batteries go. Chances are, by then, I'll be ready to dump these in favor of the newest 4k (or 8k) cameras πŸ˜‰

The battery has a 1 year warrantee, clearly the manufacturer does not expect the battery to fail within a year, however battery lifetimes do tend to be a bit random, there is some chance of them failing in the first week, after that they normally last much longer but the odd one does still fail after a few months, most will probably last between 1 and 3 years, maybe more in colder climates.

It wouldn't be much of an issue if the batteries were user replaceable, unfortunately it needs a soldering iron, hopefully the next generation will have learned the lesson and have a simple way to change them.
