My miscalculation or his fault

The thing is, in the UK they started marking even some perfectly formed crossroads telling people to turn passenger side to passenger side. This is dangerous because neither driver can see if it's safe to proceed. It was done to prevent gridlock when there are two queues waiting to turn.

Unfortunately this means that even at perfectly formed, unmarked crossroads, with light traffic, some people just go for it whichever way they please. Now you can't predict which method the other driver will take. It was a bad change of rules.
