N4 Pro S Review

Just finished, no crashes or reboots. After the camera went into parking mode, I closed the app and restarted it after reconnecting the ACC line to my bench power supply. I was able to reconnect the app to the camera without any issues.

Can you try letting the camera sit for 15-20 minutes before trying to connect? Or did you already do that?

Happens with Wifi set to Auto Off after 10 mintues or Wifi turned off and enabled after camera awakes.

So if you never enter parking mode, boot the camera and connect with the App there is no crash?

Exactly. This is only happening AFTER the camera enters parking mode and sits for a bit. Works perfectly before parking mode. Camera appears to not wake up properly because having Wifi Auto On or Manually Enabling doesn't matter. The camera wakes up and once you try to connect, the camera crashes.

If you guys can't replicate using the hardwire kit, then either it's an issue with the OBDII or My Unit is Faulty.

Have you tried other parking modes like collision or motion detection? I don't see why that would matter but who knows. You would not have to cause a collision or motion incident, just wake the camera up from parking mode after a suitable time period.
There is also a parking mode that gets automatically enabled when the car is motionless for 5 minutes. I wonder it that would also cause the problem rather than using the OBD cable.

When the vehicle is stationary for 5 minutes, the
camera will enter the parking monitoring mode

automatically

Testing suction mount with GPS Module to see if anything changes.

Will test other parking modes next.

Afterwards, only other test is to try camera in other vehicle with OBDII and see if crash happens.

If no one else is able to replicate, then I am leaning towards a faulty unit. Or the OBDII has an issue with camera. But first scenario would seem more likely if I am the only one experiencing problems.

There is no ACC wire to trigger the camera to enter parking mode with the OBD II, so it relies upon remaining stationary for 5 minutes.

Oh I didn't know that, so we should be testing that method as well. It's a better apples to apples test and very easy to configure. I don't even need my Power Supply and Hardwire Kit for that, just connect UCB-C cable to Camera.

Dumb question maybe but how long are you waiting to enable Wifi after the camera exits Parking mode? Long enough for the camera to fully recover from parking and start recording in Normal mode?

I believe you could install hardwire kit without the ACC and it would enter parking mode after 5 minutes of inactivity.

I'm waiting long enough for Camera to turn on and exit the parking mode.

I've tested Collision Detection. Camera doesn't crash BUT I lose the Rear Camera and have to pull the cable to get it back.

Doesn't crash with Collision Mode, but when camera wakes up the Rear Feed is gone. I have to pull cable and reseat it to restore rear camera.

Starting to think my unit is faulty.

Oops, I toggled the ACC wire on the hardwire kit for parking mode. I'll try again just using the 2-wire utility outlet power supply and see what happens. I presume you are powering the camera through the GPS unit since the rear camera is connected.

you shouldnt be powering camera anywhere else but through gps unit. The side connector is for a computer.

Battery and Ground wire only. Leave off ACC.

I've tested everything now except camera in another vehicle, which I am doing this second using the other OBDII i have. If this fails, and no one else can replicate these issues, my unit is faulty.

It won't hurt anything to power the unit thru the rear camera connector I do it all the time. You will just lose GPS.
I'm trying to replicate the fault now.

G Sensor triggering is automatic. Default is 3 for all cams. It triggers when you hit a speed bump. This camera doesn't offer an option for G-Sensor customization during parking mode so the setting is universal.

When I hit a small bump mine was trigger at 2 and 3. I set it to 1. Usually you don't have to go that low.
I have been set at sensitivity 2 Driving Mode all directions and experienced very few triggers.

@jsmith I am pretty sure I replicated your problem, No Rear Camera connected to rear port, Vantrue USB C cable powering Camera DC Input, LBR Parking mode

1. Power Camera on and don't wait for Parking mode to be enabled
2. Connect with App
3. Live view works fine, Wifi connects with no problems
4. Exit APP and wait for Parking mode to be enabled (> 5 minutes) Low Bit Rate Mode
5. Force camera out of parking mode by moving camera
6. Attempt to Connect with App
7. Live view never functions but App shows PARKING MODE (15 FPS) which is NOT CORRECT (camera is no longer IN parking mode)
8. App Crashes and Camera reboots

I witnessed this behavior 5 times

So to put it simply, once the camera goes into Parking Mode which was enabled by the 5 minute wait (not via ACC trigger), all bets are off for connecting the App until the next camera reboot.
I will test this with the ACC signal (Hardwire Kit) as well.

On a side note, has anybody tried touching the area under the cabin lens? That sucker gets HOT!

I noticed the same thing. It got so hot to the touch!

I dont understand #7..... When I try to connect after camera wakes up, I get Network Connection Error and Camera freezes and crashes.

The Low Bitrate Parking mode is 15 FPS..... This is accurate. You see it wake up on the screen but then the camera crashes once you try to connect with the app.

1. Crashes in 2 Channel (without rear camera) reboot camera and then Wifi Works again.

2. Crashes in 3 Channel (rear camera connected) lose rear camera feed. Only solution is unplug rear camera cable and replug in.

Can you confirm this behavior?

Regarding #7, When I try to connect the App (after camera exits Parking Mode and it starts recording in Driving Mode), I get the first screenshot below on my phone App:
Notice it says 1080P+1080P15 FPS which was true for LBR parking mode but the camera is now in Driving mode (4K 30 FPS).

A few seconds later the App crashes and I get back to the "Connect Your Device" screen (See the second screenshot below). The Camera does not freeze but it reboots.
I don't think I ever saw a Network Connection Error.

I can confirm your "1. Crashes in 2 Channel (without rear camera) reboot camera and then Wifi Works again."

I will attempt to confirm your "2. Crashes in 3 Channel (rear camera connected) lose rear camera feed. Only solution is unplug rear camera cable and replug in."

I am wondering if the Hardwire kit results in similar behavior

I added the rear camera.
I get the exact same behavior as with 2 channels.
Camera freezes on all three (front, interior, rear) when trying to connect App after exiting Parking Mode.
Camera reboots.
All 3 lenses start working again. I don't have to remove and plug back in the rear camera.
