So 70mai just launched the new 2 channel dash cam, A510, with specifications from the website:

So how do you think? I think this will be a good competitor for Viofo A119 Mini 2, at least for front cam only, with the downside it still uses battery instead of capacitor.

Nice, it has cloud.

Cool to see them making more units and getting into cloud. I was about ready to add it to my testing lineup until I saw the mention of a battery instead of a capacitor.

If it's using a LiFePO4 type battery I think that's ok.
If it's a Li-ion battery I would steer clear of it.

Maximum temperature is about the same, and neither should be charged below 0°C.

The LiFePO4 may be less likely to produce flames, and it will likely have a longer life, but it is not the answer to the problem. We don't have a flames issue with Li-ion anyway, so I think the only advantage of LiFePO4 is a longer life, but if it is regularly overheated, it is still not going to be a long life.

One of the main reasons for using LiFePO4 is that it can be rapidly charged to 100%, which is not possible with Li-ion, you have to slow down towards the end, but that is not of any real interest for dashcam internal use. For recharging dashcam external batteries it is very useful.
