Request:
Add/change the Low Frame Rate options from 1, 5, 10, 15 fps to 1, 2.5, 5, 10, and 15 fps. There is a considerable inproportionate gap between 1 fps & 5 fps that doesn't exist between 5 & 10 and 10 & 15.

Some more bug fixes in the latest firmware published for the Nexus 4 Pro front and rear cameras, a couple of days ago.

Changelog:
1. Fixed some bugs on GPS, audio recording and parking mode.
2. Correct an error on the daylight saving time entry/exit times.
3. Added a backup mechanism for voice activation.

The update process was seamless, automatically offered to me in the Android app, downloaded fast over 5Ghz Wifi and both front and rear cameras updated within two minutes. I'm impressed.

Good news, with the latest firmware update ECK-142, the "Audio Noise Reduction" bug has been fixed.

No more clipping/crackling of audio, and background sound levels are suitably lowered in the audio recordings.

Well done to the team for keeping on top of the bugs, with the continued cadence of firmware updates @Jeff_Vantrue

Try clearing the cache in the application.
I, too, could not immediately get the update through the application, but after torturing it for a while, everything worked out.
Well, new firmware is now available on the Vantrue website.

Firmware ECK142.
Can somebody tell me why are only 3 videos recorded on the card, even I was driving more than 1 hour? The latest 3, the others were deleted by the camera loop feature. Yesterday I had 5 videos only but two were very short.
I am recording with only main camera. No rear, no cabin camera.

Sounds like you have privacy mode enabled.

Oh, yes, you are right! I just wanted the interior camera to not record and ended with this.

I'm sure some firmware bugs have been reported to Vantrue @Jeff_Vantrue or through their official support channels, but wondering if it might be useful to collate them all under the one umbrella here if we experience any.

Current firmware version as of 6th Dec 2023:

Front Camera: VT-ECK142
Cabin Camera: VT-ECD191
Rear Camera: VT-ECK301




Wish-list:

• HDR on/off or auto timer like other brands e.g. Viofo has?
• Possible removal of Sync feature from app, these should be downloaded to phone storage from app already
• Show the amount of storage left on microSD card within the app itself when checking
• Ability to turn off green indicator light on the unit itself (thanks @J Ward
• Please add section to display the list of Voice Commands available inside the app - it can be frustrating as they are not listed in the PDF (or paper) user guides and the only way to view them is through using the camera screen itself (fixed in firmware ECJ202)

I would like to add something to the wish list, please

• Option to fall back to the low-power long-lasting Collision Detection parking mode from one of the other parking modes, after a user-set period of time

This would be on the basis that Collision Detection parking mode (even with its long start up time) is better than nothing at at all. This setting would mean that, for shorter parking periods, you'd benefit from the best parking modes, but you would have some protection for much longer periods.

Bugs in APP (4th Nov 2023 - current version 1.0.35)


Listed bugs were observed in version 1.0.32:

1. Translation issue when starting app, says "Get Start" instead of "Get Started" (fixed in 1.0.35)
2. When setting HDR toggles for individual cameras (rear, front, cabin) within the app, the app crashes and you need to re-connect to the camera again (fixed in 1.0.35)
3. Please add option like "Do Not Show Again" as every time the app is started, it gives you instructions to how to connect via WiFi to your camera (fixed in 1.0.35 - you need to go to the About tab and toggle "Wi-Fi Connection Guide" to Off)
4. Remove orange background on "Software V 1.0.XX" and also the cloud icon, as this is indicating to me that there is an update available - when there is no update available (fixed in 1.0.35)
5. Remove cloud icon on "Firmware OTA update for dash cam" as this is also indicating to me that there is an update available - when there is no update available (fixed in 1.0.35)
for 3. and 4. - please only display cloud icon when there is an update available to download
6. In the "About" tab, links for Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram and Reddit do not work - please update these to work (fixed in 1.0.35 except Twitter)
7. Even though the "Wifi off after 10 minutes" option is on, when you try and connect to the camera (even after turning the wifi on using the button manually) it still won't connect to the camera to view and download footage straight after an accident. I need to turn the ignition off then turn it back on to connect. (fixed in 1.0.35)
8. Firmware update not prompting correctly in Android app, even when tapping manually on the "Firmware OTA update for dash cam" entry in the About tab - (fixed in 1.0.35/firmware ECJ-202)



Bugs (11th Nov 2023):

1. When adjusting the volume of the dashcam itself, it does not reflect that setting in the Power On Sound. It always makes the maximum volume sound on boot-up; on older firmware it used to chime at a lower volume (if set to that) (still not fixed in firmware ECK-142). Behaviour modified so that at every boot now, Vantrue loading screen displays (this was 50% chance on previous firmwares)
2. "Audio Noise Reduction" feature introduces distortion when turned on, into the audio recordings. See here for details: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...-channel-dash-camera-review.49696/post-605970 (fixed in firmware ECK-142)

I have an additional bug (I think). Reminders to reformat the card don't occur if the camera is being used in collision detection parking mode. Anyone else see this? It may be that it only occurs at boot up, and in this parking mode the camera very rarely powers down (as you very rarely get to the voltage cut-off point)

Definately still a bug (for me) is no warning to reformat card after 30 days with that option set.

Using Collision Detection parking mode, if that makes any difference.

Seems like it's still there. I had the bug happen again where it asks to format the SD card (after a 30 day reminder) multiple times a day on day 30.

Strange, I've never seen that warning ever. Maybe you have to be using the car on the 30th day!?

Could be, I use my car daily. Even though it remembers the date and time, then surely it should only trigger once and then be done with it. Unless there's some other thing I'm missing...
