As a lifetime commie my father had a standing invite to go visit Fidel, i was pushing hard for him to take Fidel up on that in the 80 and 90ties.
But sadly it seem like Cuba was one commie place that dident have the old mans interest, he been to just about all the other commie hotspots over time.

I myself been to eastern Germany several times as a kid.

I am sure if they open up again it will again turn out like the old days and Americanos will flood over and "ruin" it again.

But let me stress i am in no way a commie myself but in the old days Cuba was a hornets nest too, the mob was knee deep over there.
