Maybe the scooter rider wanted to turn into the road on the right but locked up and sailed past it. Looked like he was about to do a 'U' turn until he saw you approaching.

School entrances can be a nightmare but that's the first time I've seen a school that permits parents to drive into the grounds to drop off. God help any kids in the area. I didn't see a lollipop person either!
