Persistent "70mai first boot up, requires to activate by mobile phone"

Hi All,
Just an information sharing;:)

Device
70Mai Smart Dash Cam-7134
Model : Midrive D01
(70mai_d01_7134)
mac address: 38:83:9a:77:71:34
70mai_d01_7134 version is 1.08.ww
70mai phone app is version 1.11.0

Every time upon starting my car, the 70mai smart dash kept asking me to activate via phone.
" 70mai first boot up, requires to activate by mobile phone"
After activation succeeded/ completed, via phone's 70mai apps, recordings of footage resume normal.
However, it kept repeating above whenever the car is restart or the smart dash is powered on.

I brought the above unit home to diagnose with a USB power bank, symptom persisted.
I had tried several methods as below, but the problem persisted.
# hard reset the 70mai smart dash,
# So soft reset the cam by press 5 time on the cam button.
# Delete smart dash from app, re-setup.
# Downgrade 70mai phone apps from 1.11.0 to 1.7.3
All above resulted helpless.
Till, help desk replied that kind of flashing link is broken few days back.

After browsing this informative forum,
Finally, managed to resume above 70Mai D01 to operation mode.
Re flashing the firmware to 1.03, then again to 1.08EU (Unable to locate version 1.08ww) by SD card method.
Will monitor further and hopes it can last me further....

However, the device didn't prompt "Upgrade Succeeded" after completion (Unlike 1.03 version's)
Thus, I unplug the power 2~3 minutes after the Blue blinking LED turns off.

Methods

Hopes above could give everyone a course of direction to trouble solving.

does that mean that you solved the problem by flashing the 1.0.8eu firmware?
 
Same problem here, i'm on v1.0.8.eu.2019.03.14, lets see if i can downgrade with sdcard methos to 1.03....

I'm having the same problem after replacing the battery in my MiDrive D01 (the Chinese model).
Every time I turn it on it says "please activate your device by connecting it to your cell phone".
But connecting the app to the wifi doesn't do anything and the same prompt is issued next time the dashcam is switched on.
I tried factory reset, format SD card etc.

I tried reflashing the already installed 1.08eu firmware but no change.
So I was going to try flashingg 1.03 stock and then 1.08eu again but I can't find the former.
Does anybody have a link to the 1.03cn stock firmware please?

Well - not stock but stock with English commands. I'll try that and then 1.08eu and see what happens.

Edit 2: no luck - revert to 1.03, boot, no "activate" prompt, upgrade to 1.08eu, reboot, "activate" prompt back. I'll try 1.06cn with English prompts.

Edit 3: actually no matter what firmware I install it DOES give some sort of "activate" message on startup (I can't make out what exactly it is on 1.03 and 1.06) and recording does not start automatically - only if I connect the app to it. Then back to square one on reboot. Looks like I'm screwed so as it's not practical to connect the app every time I start driving. :-|
