I think you've pretty much isolated it to being your computer that's the problem, on a standard Win7 install Registrator Viewer will work so look for some other program you've installed that might be interfering with that

I have very little software on the PC. When it was new i binned off media player early on due to a 'server error'. Maybe it's related. So tried every repair or reinstal of media player i could find online, no different.

Given your 0805 files work with all the other machines you've used, I agree with Jokiin, it looks like a software conflict of some sort on your main PC....
