Have a new camera installed a unsure if it is recording as I drive power comes I’m when I start car fine then blanks out. Sometimes rec button has red light on. If it is not rec light on is the camera recording

Hello, and welcome to the forum! Please post the manufacturer and model of your camera so that folks can assist you. Have you viewed the recordings? That would be one way to answer your question.

Pull out your SD card and see if it has recorded your travels. It it has all is well, if not you need to consider if maybe your wiring needs some adjusting or of the dash cam is defective. Screens showing recording is happening normally blank out a short time after the dash cam starts recording.
