Screen Always On?

Looking to buy my first dashcam and the Mini 0803 looks promising. However, I am curious if the screen is always on while recording.

I like the idea of having the screen as an option to review the recordings when needed, but I don't like the idea of having something glowing and distracting every time I am driving - especially at night.

What would be ideal is if the camera booted and started recording when car turned on (with the indicator LED letting me know its on/recording), but the screen remained off until I pressed a button.

So does the screen always on while recording?

Screen turns off after x minutes (you can set it to 1/3/5/off in the Settings)

Ah, got it.

I saw that option in this video here. For some reason I thought it referred to the amount of time the screen would remain on after the power was disconnected. i.e., keep recording for 1/3/5 minutes after you turn off the car.

That clears it up, thank you!
