I was surprised by the file size. It was over 151 MB for a one minute video. Lots of pixels in there.

That is pretty conservative file size, on another camera i experimented with higher bitrates, and saw 3 minute video segments around 1000 MB in size, that's like 330 MB for 1 minute of footage.
This did wonders for the blocking you can some times see in dashcam footage when you drive thru a area with a lot of information for the camera to process, but it sure also did have a memory price.
In the end i reverted back to more sane bitrates, but i would like the higher ones one day, but just not in a camera that use a little memory card for storage.

Yep, more detail = more data = more storage required - just like buying 10 lbs. of potatoes, you better have a 10 lb. bag to put them in.
