Clean install 2003 GMC Sierra extended cab. At times like this I am happy to not have a new car. Soo much easier to take apart and not worry about 14 airbags or anything else that does not like to be touched. You always have a good install when there are not any extra vehicle trim screws, bolts or clips left over.
Placed in center consul under cup/junk tray using the velcro. Tray just snaps in and out. When I take the DR out there is a good 2 feet of slack in the cables.
Installed a remote cutoff switch to the constant 12v+ lead for home garage parking because it is inconvenient to get to the the head unit main power shut off each time I come home. I don't want it recording in my garage. Turn off truck, wait 10 seconds (it is going into parking mode), flip my 12v kill switch, DR shuts down (remote file save button light will go out), then flip switch back to on and DR will start up next time I start the truck up. Or I can flip the switch before I turn off truck, turn off truck, verify remote button light is off and flip switch back to on. This way it does not create a 5 second parking file.

Perfect fit for rear camera. I could not have gotten it any any higher if I wanted as the defrost line would have been in the way. I recommend blocking of the 3m area that would touch the defrost line, this is in case you need to remove the base. Much less chance damaging the the defrost line without having the 3m stuck to it. I placed a thin strip of black electrical tape slightly wider than the defrost line onto the 3m where it would have stuck to the defrost.
Love the factory limo dark rear windows. pretty much makes it invisible.
