If they last you 13 months each and are reasonable easy to change then the lipo isn't a bad option, and even if you do get the supercapacitor working, they also loose capacity in heat so if it is only just big enough when installed it may last less than 13 months anyway! Supercapacitors do last longer in heat than lipos but if the lipo starts of with more reserve capacity...
