Thought somebody might find this interesting:

Jafar Panahi, a director banned from film making in Iran, has shot his newest film Taxi entirely using dash camera footage.

Do you know what cameras they used? Quality makes me think it's probably a DSLR

A camera mounted on dashboard can work like a dashcam but doesn't make it a dashcam.
For example:
Works as a dashcam but not a dashcam that we think of here in DCT.

I think you got the idea... ;)

So unless we know it's actually a dashcam, it can be any of the above and more.

It's amazing what they can do these days with these little cameras - wasn't one done recently that was shot totally on an iPhone?

there was a film shot totally on iPhones, a whole heap of them were used and it was all edited together

Filmmaker Jafar Panahi was sentenced to six years in prison plus a twenty-year ban on all his artistic activities—including film making, writing scripts, traveling abroad and speaking with media.
Don't worry, he's on the good hands; he will get out sooner. There are always activist for human rights, for example, Saudi Arabia: http://www.mintpressnews.com/wikile...udi-arabia-on-un-human-rights-council/210117/
"In September 2015, Faisal bin Hassan Trad, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the UN in Geneva, has been elected Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council panel that appoints independent experts. UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer said: "It is scandalous that the UN chose a country that has beheaded more people this year than Isis to be head of a key human rights panel. Petro-dollars and politics have trumped human rights." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Human_Rights_Council
