Thinkware 750 Development

have you tried to reinstall the same firmware that is currently on it? I think it was the .22 you installed? in answer to your question, no, the process is the same as upgrading.

I have not tried to reinstall the same firmware version. I'll try that and see what happens. Is it possible that Thinkware put something in place to prevent the manipulation of the firmware? Is there an option to revert back to factory state?

its possible that they have done something to prevent unauthorized firmware updates which was why I was asking for you to try the current firmware again. that should work regardless, the fact it isn't doing anything at all is concerning, if it installed the .22 as normal then there is a good chance they have changed something, equally however, the fact thinkware have pulled the .22 update suggest that there might well be a problem with it.

I tried to reapply the 22 update, but it is not happening.

the 1.00.22 firmware has a problem with the speed cameras and a new version should be released tomorrow (we'll see).... you cannot according to Thinkware downgrade the software to a previous version. Out of the box a few weeks back my UK camera f750 had the 22 firmware but when i add the camera database you see it on the app but when you switch off the camera and then back on its gone. Thinkware have confirmed the issue with the 22 firmware.

you can downgrade, I have done it from pre .22 firmwares, I have not however tried the .22 so cant comment on that, If you cant reflash the same firmware then I suspect you have bigger problems, even if they did prevent downgrades and even if they did prevent updates to unauthorised updates there is no reason to prevent you reinstalling the same firmware

at this point, if your having problems I would suggest contacting thinkware support.

explain that you installed .22 and that you've been unable to downgrade or reinstall it.

there is a new firmware released this morning 1.00.24, will try it after work today.

The upgrade to 24 works, not checked the speed cams yet. Is it still possible and safe to try to "convert" to the F770 instead of F750, ?

Looks like the "fix" is in to prevent converting to a F770.

Thanks for trying and informing us.

I have trouble setting the right time.
I choose UTC +1:00 - brussels-copenhagen-madrid-paris and daylight saving enabled,
Yet the time is 1 hr ahead.
(the setting also keeps jumping to UTC +1:00 central Africa though that shouldn't matter for the time)

I cau't see how - the 750 hardware clearly remains the same, and the firmware is whatever you version you choose to put on.

I've just formatted and reinstalled whithout any issues - but I did notice that this update took a lot longer than previous versions to install.

I would suggest downgrading if possible to the .15 then upgrading to the .02 F770. ill try the .06 f770 on my F750 tomorrow and confirm any findings

Thanks @Dee82 I was hoping that you'd do that before I load it into my converted F750 and screw something up.

Ha, I'm always willing to take one for the team....most of the time!

So that's my converted F750 running the F770 .06 firmware, no problems, parking more and normal running all works fine, ill fully test throughout the day and let you know the script later.

So to be clear of my upgrade path

F750 .15 > conversion > F770 .02 > .03 > .06

I'll wait for your all clear, and install.

I went from F750 .15 to F770 .03

its all good guys, .06 on the 750 works as normal, I cant see any difference at all between the other one tho

It appears that .24 will not allow me to downgrade either. I can however run the .24 over itself so that issue appears to have been with .22. Any thoughts on downgrading so I can upgrade to the 770 firmware?

Just a thought that popped into my head. Is there a reset button or switch (possibly internal and accessed through a small hole) that can be used to reload an earlier version?

@Dee_82 can probably answer this one.
