Hi,

I've done some looking around for suitable and reliable SD cards for this dashcam.
I'm in doubt between a couple of types.

So i've head that the Samsung Pro Endurance cards are the best for overwriting the card numerous times. However the biggest card is 128GB.
Sandisk has the High Endurance line, and the Max Endurance line with cards upto 256 GB

Prices here are:
Samsung Pro Endurance 128: €28.90 (2Y warranty)
Sandisk High Endurance 128: €23.90 / 256: €43.90 (2Y warranty)
Sandisk Max Endurance 128: €36.90 / 256: €67.90 (5Y warranty)

So in theory, a 256gb card will last 2 times longer than a 128gb card because the memory is overwritten half the times because it is twice as large.
That's why i'm thinking about the Sandisk High Endurance 256GB. That would theoretically be able to store about 12 hours of 2Kfront+FHDback video at H.265compression at high bitrate (about 350MB per minute).

How would you feel about this, or do you have any other tips? What kind of SD card are you using?

should do

we changed to Sandisk High Endurance cards for the ones we include with the cameras about 18 months ago, my experience after using several thousand of these is that they have been the lowest failure rate of any cards we have used, (previously used Transcend, Samsung, Toshiba, Kingston), we also use Western Digital Surveillance cards and have had no problems with those although less of those to date, they're also a lot more expensive

If i quote from another topic about the high, or max endurance: The High Endurance cards were rated for up to 20,000 hours of constant recording on the 256GB cards whereas these new Max Endurance cards say 6x that at 120,000 hours
(https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...00-hours-5000-days-13-7-years-at-1080p.41868/)

So value for moneywise the Max would be way better. But if i'm not planning on using constant parking recording. And 20.000 hours is still a helluva long time. If i'm on the road for 2 hours per day for 6 day's per week for 50 weeks per year, that's 600 hours. It would last for 33 years in that usage.

yeah the Max Endurance pricing is a bit high to justify the extra expense when the High Endurance are already good cards

Why not take the samsungs evo
I currently have on the viofo A129 Plus Duo a Samsung Evo Plus class 10 256 GB U3 memory card card which has been running for 1 year continuously on the Blueskysea B2W every day and no problem
I had done a test on the cards on our Dashcams and after a lot of use on my dashcams I uncoated the SanDisk and Transcend HS in less than 6 months of operation
