Tried to do a 720p 60 fps film earlier today. Good grief, horrible quality.

they don't do 60fps, it's just a software hack, not sure why they think fake 60fps is desirable anyway

I was about to post a question on which is better for capturing an accident, 1920x1080 @ 30fps or 1280x720 @ 60fps

You answered my question, might as well go for 1080P (as long as we have a big enough memory card)

You answered my question, might as well go for 1080P (as long as we have a big enough memory card)

Mid-price range dash cams with 60fps at 720p doubling each frame from 30fps to 60fps, so you get "interpolation" and it is not much help for more details viewings later on.
Besides in some dash cams there is a FOV recording difference if switching between 720p and 1080p. In higher priced dash cams FOV no difference 720p vs 1080p.

I really question the point of even having 720p as an option, I think most people that try it only do so out of curiosity and go straight back to 1080p mode anyway

I'm considering not even having a 720p option in the new cameras, we have selectable bitrate anyway so users can lower the bitrate if they want to save space and still have 1080p resolution
