V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

FWA329TC_V2.0_20251027
Each time you enter parking mode, the A329TC says twice: "Recording of three channels has begun."

Interesting--will have to test at some point if this happens to me as well. Right now I have my interior cam off for PM, and the unit only says "Recording two channels" once.

My interior camera only works in parking mode.

Not to get too far off topic, but I find myself both horrified and amused when I need to review any of my interior cam footage and am forced to watch my actions (I apparently mutter a lot to myself about other drivers). 😉 I have it on while driving to capture things to the side of the vehicle and just in case of any problematic interactions with others (including law enforcement).

Everyone chooses the most important function in his opinion.

This is how I learned that I apparently have a strange habit of raising my right eyebrow while I drive. It's likely a reaction to others on the road (as in: "Really?!?! You really just did that?!?!"), but it was interesting to make that discovery from reviewing cabin footage. Now I'm very conscious of it but I still catch myself doing it all of the time... Sigh...

This is basically a one time event, the notification of a impact in parking mode. I can test this over and over and it will not work. Then out of the clear blue sky it will work. And then not again for how knows when. This is the notification of impact from parking mode when you restart your vehicle. But yet the file was not found in RO Folder but in the movie folder. Will really appreciate when this becomes a reliable source of information because it is very informative. @viofo
Notification of impact

Added: Found the proper RO file that was made by me opening and shutting the door, so I guess announcements are saved on the regular movie files.

After another day taking my wife shopping I find the Low Impact Parking Mode is working correctly and gave Notification when starting the car. This puzzles me in that the only difference is when testing at home I do not wait over an hour to perform a test from start to finish. I just will need to stay on top of the testing and possible settings that I have done it correctly. I am hoping for more information from the high tech users on setting and using just the LIPM as that is what works best for my car and battery. My settings are more or less locked in by now.

Admittedly I may have missed a detail along the way, but what Notification are you seeing when using LIPM and starting the car?
I have been thinking/looking for a notification that there was an impact when coming out of LIPM? Is this not the case?

After being in LIPM mode and then restarting the car, if there has been a impact (tapping window) it should give a notification as can be heard as such; Notification of impact when restarting dash cam in regular mode.

Testing with WD SN850X NVMe in ASUS USB:

20251111_173742712 - Copy.webp

Trying to think if there's a valid case for having a setting that changes storage location (SD or SSD) for Driving vs Parking Mode.

New BETA VIOFO Android app is so much better.

Some of the problems I had with parking mode can be traced back to battery voltage I'm thinking. Even with a 2025 battery the car’s electrics are very demanding. There is a recent very good post on consumption and I need to put together a better plan for my battery. I just do not drive it much. Never had a problem starting but do not want that problem.

But barring that I really like this camera. It takes such great pictures I am sure you will really like it. Keep us posted how you make out. And for sure upgrade to V2.0 the Geofencing is great along with some other extra improvements. And last Congratulations. Your testing will just show you made the right choice.

Thanks to the user and the Dashcamtalk Professional reviewers' feedback, we implemented some new features on the V2.0 firmware.
Now it is ready for public testing. Please download the firmware from the V2.0 Firmware link(10.27 Version).
Look forward to your feedback.

Change Log:

  • Optimized the frame duplicate.
  • Optimized super night vision.
  • Optimized G-sensor sensitivity.
  • Allow long presses of the menu button to access the menu while recording.
  • Added options to enable or disable the rear camera and interior camera using the Bluetooth button.
  • Included a prompt to use the HK6 hardwire cable for hybrid parking mode.
  • Added Parking GeoFencing features.
  • Supporting backing up files to SSD in impact detection recording mode; save files to the SSD before entering the impact mode in Hybrid parking mode.
  • Add Voice notification of parking events.
  • The screen remains off during impact parking recording.
  • Add only the critical alert voice notification option,
  • Add an option to disable vehicle voltage display.
  • Supported enabling or disabling Wi-Fi station mode using the Bluetooth button.
  • Add an exporting settings option.
  • Optimized the slow card issue in AED Parking Mode

Please follow this blog for the details and instruction.
Thanks @VIOFO-Support, great to see requested features from us implemented. Especially geofencing for parking mode and interior camera on/off using bluetooth remote, now I can pick my nose at the press of a button 😆

48 hours of recording to SSD worked fine (WD SN850X NVMe in ASUS USB).

No problems with copying files from SD card to SSD too.

Nine pages in, give or take, and the posts seem to be overwhelmingly positive and any/all issues
resolved. So I finally updated the Android app to the Beta version, and the A329S firmware has
been updated to the V2.0 version, both done earlier this evening.

Both updates went smoothly. I have gone through the settings and moved things back to what
I had prior to the updates, all good.

I haven't looked into most of the really new features like geofencing, and I still have not setup
the little remote button. I have to agree the GUI on the new Android app is clean and the
file access is very nice.

Thanks Viofo, and everyone here who had a hand in polishing these latest apps. 😉

Im excited about the new firmware. However, I am confused about one of the features. I'm running a three channel 329s with hard wire. I'm using the dash cam in hybrid parking mode and storing the parking onto the microSD card and the footage when driving on the SSD card. The camera normally allow you to use this feature if you're storing the parking in the hybrid mode onto the microSD card.

Is there a new feature that you could utilize the hybrid parking mode that it would directly save the footage onto the SSD card instead of the microSD card. If not fine if that's something they can work on if it's possible for future updates.

The feature that I'm interested in is the backup option for the hybrid parking mode or even regular parking mode if it's being saved onto the microSD card. Are the videos from the parking mode now being automatically downloaded into the ssd from the micro Sd card. Or only if an impact is detected during the parking mode that it saves it onto the SSD storage unit if someone can explain this to me, I would be grateful.

Lastly, this has happened to my Viofo many times in the past few months. I believe what has happened. Is that because of my voltage setting being exceeded the camera shuts off during the parking mode to save the battery as it should. This is when I'm using the hybrid parking mode that's the feature that I always use. Then when I get into the car, the cameras turns on and starts recording, but then my parking mode id turned off completely. Since I have my sound off, I may not even know, but the parking mode gets disabled all together. Has this been addressed, I know that some users have coined this parking gate issue. I just want to find out that if this particular issue has been addressed with this update.
Thank you very much in advance. Also I am very encouraged that the manufacturer view for actually monitors this forum and listens and directly engages with their customers.

Also this is for VIOFO as a suggestion. I'm using multi Plex video on 3 channel. It would be nice to have the option to use it in that format, but also be able to individually watch the video it's full format. I guess you can't have everything, but I understand that there are some Dashcams that allow you to do that. I wonder if that could be also something in the works for the future.

@losang30 I have the Viofo A329S 3CH system with the HK6 hardwire for power.
I do not have any SSD, I am only using a Viofo 512gb Micro SD card.

I have noticed, maybe 2-3 occasions where the single power LED I selected to indicate
parking mode is ON, and it is OFF when I get in the vehicle. I check the settings and
find the Parking Mode is set to OFF.

This has only happened when parked in my driveway, and whenever I am home I plug
my vehicle in to a battery maintainer to keep my car battery charged and to make sure
my dash cam has power. I have no idea how or why this has happened.

But - just last night I upgraded my Android phone to the newest Beta version of the app,
and also upgraded the A329S to the latest firmware, so I am curious to see if I experience
the loss of Parking Mode again. This happened 2-3times over the course of about 3 months
so it be a while before I see it again, if ever. Also, there are some new features included in
the latest firmware, features that I am not yet using. I want to see how the new firmware
acts with all the same settings as before, prior to making any new settings.

My selection for Parking Mode is: Hybrid, Low-Bit-Rate > Impact Detection.

Hope this helps.
