Vantrue E360 'Ace' (unboxing & first impressions) (Novatek NT98530, dual Sony Starvis 2 IMX675/IMX335 rear, GPS + 5GHz Wi-Fi, HDR, dual 2.7K)

I like the Omni 4K too.

My current setup is the E360 and the T800 in the same car. I have the E360 set up for parking mode and don't use the T800 for parking mode. Kind of spoilt for choice.
T800, nice - I also have one and 4k is great for rear but running E1 Pro standalone as I only have one battery for the 4G of the 70mai. As strange as this seems, I like the motion tracking that the Omni has - otherwise would totally swap the T800 in for the 4G and battery that goes with it.

Different models we have but same kind of logic! Also have the A329T where the telephoto is absolutely boss, but yeah no 4G with Viofo so it's out of the car for the time being ..

Don't tempt me to put my Omni in as well, I already have too many wires to fit in the rubber seals around the window and I had to use left and right sides haha.

You'll be able to fit in more haha, I once had five cameras installed at once and somehow you make room haha

I have eco euro alternator, it will probably report me to the CO2 authorities if I add any more.

Six-Month Follow-up of the Vantrue E360

After spending an extended period of time with the Vantrue E360, have some observations / opinions to share.

Unfortunately, it's one of those models that has sat on the shelf for a while for me. Due to its rather limited nature with licence plate pickup, and I have favoured the other approach to 360-degree coverage taken by 70mai with their 4K Omni. Which isn't Vantrue's fault, but by nature a consequence of the choice they made.

After the initial firmware update not long after it's launch, there was nothing added or improved for six months (which was nothing but really bug fixes). This could well likely be a product of being a mature product at launch, but also a result of hitting the ceiling with what is capable with the existing hardware.

Despite this, Vantrue should be commended nonetheless for trying something new, even if it may or may not see a successor.

I agree with you about the license plate capture. I still think it is the ultimate camera for door ding surveillance.

Another feature that I REALLY like about the E360 is it's wide angle front lens. There is a specific use where it really shines: 4-way intersections with stop signs. The front camera field of view is wide enough to show the cross traffic, including enough perspective to definitively show whether the opposing traffic did or did not actually stop. If you do lots of driving on rural/suburban roads, this feature is clearly worthwhile!

I am about to reinstall it again to capture some additional footage. I'm thinking the ultimate use case might be the the Vantrue E360 combined with the Viofo A329T. This gives you three views out the front windshield (plus rear footage): Ultra wide to capture cross traffic, a more traditional view out the front window, and a telephoto view into the distance.

This is a good point, I swear by the Telephoto been using it since the A229 Pro days. Depends on your preferences of course - I prefer the motion tracking that the 4K Omni can do when it detects a person. It's not full 360 and can't spin around fast and enough, but it's more than enough

My vote is 4K Omni if you can only have one camera, and E360 + a sharp camera, if you can have two.

Also selfie mode is fun.

And now I'm going to end up having three cameras installed again.

Did they get uncertified? Interesting, but not really that interesting at all lol.

I know right haha. I'll have you know it was keeping me awake all night

Thanks for noticing! Just to clarify: the removal of the UKCA and PSE markings doesn’t mean the product is “uncertified.”
The UKCA mark was originally required when the UK separated from the EU, but the UK government has recently decided to continue recognizing the CE mark for most product categories. That means keeping both CE and UKCA markings can actually cause confusion, and in some cases, showing the UKCA mark unnecessarily may even be considered inaccurate labeling.
Similarly, the PSE mark applies specifically to certain electrical product categories in Japan. For products that don’t fall under the mandatory “designated electrical appliances” list, displaying the PSE symbol is unnecessary and may be misleading.
So this update is just a compliance adjustment. we’re removing redundant symbols to make labeling clearer and more accurate.
The product remains fully compliant and certified for all applicable markets.

And here is the bottom line. Thank you for providing the additional details, I've been curious about this as well and wondered what this actually meant in terms of product compliance, applicable laws, safety standards, etc.
