@indigo

The front cameras use different sensors. N4 Pro S uses IMX 678. N4Pro uses IMX 675. Even rear camera uses a different sensor on the N4 Pro S and N4 Pro. Please see screenshot above.
check this form vantrue website
they use same imx678

i really confuse why vantrue show imx 678 for n4pro front camera in China
but here that is imx675

@indigo

You've clearly found confusion in marketing.

I would ask @Jeff_Vantrue why the N4 Pro says it uses IMX 675 on one advertisement and IMX 678 on another.
many many sony 678 in vantrue website
and maybe vnatrue sell different n4pro in the earth?

@indigo

The front cameras on the N4 Pro and N4 Pro S are the same. The main difference is that the N4 Pro S supports LTE module.

so that mean the the front camera video of this two dashcam is same?

oh i mean what different about n4 pro s front camera between n4pro front camera

This should be asked to someone who has both models in hand. Even with the same sensors, the video may be different.
It all depends on the firmware.

The N4 Pro uses a barrel shaped rear camera. A much better design than the Extending Camera found on the N4 Pro S. I raised this concern to Vantrue, because the extending mount is subject to vibrations. A barrel shape is far sturdier.

Here are the technical differences:
Did you only notice the difference in the shape of the rear camera? What about the new 2K video sensor used in the N4 Pro S rear camera?
There have been many complaints about the video quality of the N4 Pro and N5 rear cameras.
The N4 Pro S and N4 Pro main cameras use the IMX678. There is a mistake in this table that no one noticed.

I can neither confirm nor deny your statement.
Unfortunately, I never got around to checking the rear cameras of the new Vantrue models.
Constant lack of time.

I emailed Vantrue to ask about the differences. I pasted their response above verbatim (word for word).

I can't speak to any other potential differences as you said, I don't own both cameras to compare.

@indigo asked about the Front Camera only. I did point out the rear cameras differ both in sensors and shape (Post #20).

Correct on both using the IMX 678. Vantrue is going to fix that error after I emailed them about it.

Perhaps Vantrue will improve the video quality of the rear cameras of the new models by changing the firmware.
On older models, the problem was in the rear cameras themselves.

Vantrue told me they are going back to the old barrel shaped design on future rear cameras (didn't realize they had used on the N4 Pro). The current design with the extendable mount was a poor development choice. It introduces vibration if extended all the way, and even if not extended, the screws aren't torked tight as hell so nothing moves. Also, it causes the camera to sit further from the rear windshield.

@indigo This issue can be resolved with a DIY. Place either a circular Viofo A139 CPL over the Rear Camera Lens with a DIY solution or purchase the Viofo CPL-300 and use a bit of 3M VHB on either side to adhere to the Rear Camera. The CPL makes a VERY BIG difference, because the Vantrue Camera sits too far from rear glass and gets a lot of glare.

The S1 Pro Max also has a sliding rear camera mount, but it's much better than the .
If you look at the photos of these cameras, I think you'll understand what I'm talking about.
