VIOFO A118C2

@harsh do you know if I can stick a mount of dashcam on strips from heated rear window? Or I have to do it between strips?

@jokiin How is the A118CV2 similar enough to be stable if things are being changed, or is it just the lens?
Also, how will we know we are buying the V2 version from a retailer. Will there be a physical visible clue when looking at it?

it will be stable straight away, it will have a different lens which will be obviously different from the old so you'll easily be able to tell them apart

it's best to avoid sticking anything on demister lines, but as long as you're careful when removing it later on (don't use metal tools and work SLOWLY and gently!) it should be fine. just try to position it so that there isn't a line in the middle of the lens - that's annoying!

And what about sucker Type of mount on The rear window?

Never stuck one over the defogger lines but don't think there should be any issues. You could use a sharp blade to remove enough of the adhesive so that there's a gap in the area where the line runs.

What kind of car are you installing the dash cam in?

When does the V2 release? I need to replace the unreliable clone I got from gearbest. Can't find it anywhere.

I still question Why improve the A118c if its just a few bux guys.
Why not spend engineers time to work on the A119 and A119S.

keep the A118 as it is .
the image for day commuters is very good.
you drive at night buy the A119 or the street guardian.
I am counting on Jokiin prediction that along the way new firmware will improve the A119

Cheers

Why not improve it, to leave it as is and not improve it would make them no different than the other Chinese suppliers, it's good to see at least one Chinese supplier that wants to do the right thing

Ok.
I understand what you mean now.
I am still entering the market and I didn't know what u mentioned above.
that is why I really like this site cuz u get the ins and outs of this business.
on the other hand is it viofo's best interest to improve it or the cost to do so is not worth it and instead invest time and money on their new product?
after all they will invest money and time to improve the A118c right?
besides there are too many clones taking advantage of their research and just plaguing the market with clones right?
its like generic drugs.
manufacturers behind generic drugs make hundreds of billions.
the pharmaceutical companies that spend years of research till FDA approval makes hundreds of millions.
who is winning ? that's my point

The time and effort required to improve the A118 is minimal in the scheme of things and won't impact the A119 development process, it's worth doing just to make a clear distinction between the Viofo version and the copies as those with the copy are getting a free ride at the moment and the biggest loser in that is the end user that buys a fake without knowing it

Hi Jokiin, does that mean the blueskysea branded A118C is also fake unit?

I don't know which version Blueskysea buy currently, @viofo have already said they are not going to supply for 3rd party branding to China sellers so if buying from China you would need to look for Viofo brand, other buyers like Spytec in USA will probably have their own brand version, the appearance is different anyway so you'll know which is which between the Viofo supplied cameras and the copies that are in the market

Our A118C from Tiesfong company, this is the original and first manufacture for A118 Camera which mention by Dashcamtalk.

Any news about release date? Please be more specific when do you think that we should be able to buy it.
Thank you!

What happened to me 🙂 It actually worked pretty well except for being unreliable in the summer.

I decided to go for A119 instead of wait for v2 (or get viofo v1). For a bit I though autovox might have been the original - saw their name a lot.
