Disclosure: Vantrue sent me a sample of the X2. I bought my A119 outright.

Viofo has:
-Sharper/more detailed video
-More discreet form factor
-Super capacitor reliability

Vantrue has:
-Better colour and exposure
-Less lens distortion
-Sorts videos/stills into date folders

Viofo is on the left and Vantrue is on the right throughout the video.

Viofo: approx 20,000 - 28,000 kb/s

A119 has a larger Fov than vantrue. That's why A119 has more distortion than vantrue. Any cam has large FOV will has distortion.

Vantrue X2 claims to have 170° FOV while the Viofo has 160°. From my testing they are not much different.

I would not be surprised if there is software based distortion correction being applied and that is why the A119 is sharper.

Incidentally I just realized that one of the stills is off-timed and it makes the Viofo look far wider than Vantrue. I'll fix it in the morning.

and because bitrate of A119 is 1.5 times birate of X2 :)

That's the one - there's no Street Storm equivalent this time as this X2 is supposed to be the Ambarella A12 now, I just had a nosey and Street Storm haven't put any firmwares out since July last year, not sure if they're still active?

Not sure, I know a couple of suppliers that they deal with but not really that familiar with their business

That's not my experience with Vantrue X2 which I returned within a week (I also have the A119):
- Blurry
- Night picture terrible
- Freezes..
Unless the X2 I got was defective...

The N2 is not much better from what some reviewers showed, and said they prefer the N1 to the N2 which has a sharper/better picture than the newer one.
