Viofo A329T (unboxing & first impressions) (Sony Starvis 2 IMX678, Wi-Fi 6/GPS, HDR, Novatek NT98530, 4K front + 2.5K telephoto + 2.5K rear, HDR all)

Really want the A329T for the telephoto, but I bought the A329 2CH back in March because my A129 Pro died. Really kicking myself now.

I turn my back and things take off 🙂

In regard to the display on the HW kit, i would be OK with that.
I will also say my first proper 1080 p dashcam from Lukas, i kinda liked its small display on the back side, something like that i assume could list various values.
at least on a no screen model something like that would be cool.

who would need two rear waterproof cams..
I am thinking maybe offroaders, a camera in each end to monitor approach and departure angles.
Mind you we are then talking so hard 4 x 4 that one could question if these cameras can survive that, the guy that do it will for sure have to think twice about where to install them.

I'm sure this is true, but can you confirm:

Can you use the A329S telephoto camera with the A329?

Also beyond 3 channels, is there any other improvement (cooling, bit rate etc) that would make it make sense to upgrade to A329S?

And if I upgrade, assuming same GPS puck, yes?

If you want to use the telephoto lens for the A329, please check with our support first and leave a message, there is a special version for A329.

Other improvements are the parking mode, like low power impact mode.

I assume you mean there is a special version of the firmware that supports the telephoto lens on the A329?

It is a version that plugs into the rear camera port, instead of the cabin camera port...

The telephoto rear would be very good in estate cars like mine - with it being so far at the back of the car the view would be immense!

You'r not supposed to use it mounted at the rear, it plugs into the rear port because the 2 channel A329 doesn't have a cabin port...
... or because you have your front telephoto plugged into the 3 channel A329 cabin port and you want two telephotos... or if you want a telephoto camera and a cabin fisheye camera...

Ahhh, I thought it went on the glass, lol..

Hi all, new user here.

Have been using a 622GW for a few years now and just bought a new car, so I thought I'd give the 622GW to my mother in-law and buy myself a new and was a while ago looking at the Viofos.
Not that the new car is here, my options are to wire in the old one or.... get the Viofo A329S.

I have read all posts in this thread and near the end I've seen talk about different hardwire kits and now a new(er) rear camera?

So, if I order today, will I be able to get the HK6 ( If I understood that correct, that's the newer hardware kit? ) and the new rear camera (whatever it's called), or is that coming soon? Now? Later?

Thanx for any replies.

Contact Viofo support and clear up any questions with them.
No one knows better than them what is in stock or when it will be available.

What Karagandinez said ... contact VIOFO tech support or DM them here.

From the web site, it appears to me the only available one is the HK4. If you look at the VIOFO Accessory compatible sort list for the A329S it shows only the HK4. The HK6 has not yet been released, or it is at least not on the site. They may have it in stock but not listed so, if you order from VIOFO, then contact VIOFO and see if they can add an HK6 to your order should the HK6 be available.

Thanx, guys.
I did that shortly after reading Karagandinez's message. Awaiting reply.

Actually, the rear camera for A329 is same for A329S including compatibility and configuration.

So, no new camera? The person above was wrong, or?

Very nice to see @viofo offer a slew of cable length options for the waterproof cameras for the A329S. In addition to the standard 3 metres, we have lengths of 8, 10 and 15 metres. Seems that changing the length from the standard package of 3m to having dual 15 metre cables only adds $32AUD to the pricing. Very nice.

Also appears that the telephoto and standard A329S models on presale will be shipped out May 27. Any orders that have the waterproof camera/s included will be shipped out June 11.

@viofo If i try to purchase the a329t and ship Poland the webpage declines to do so. Is there any chance to add Poland to the countries you ship to?

I think the confusion of the extra vents on rear camera is that the one with new ventilation vents is the telephoto camera instead of the rear. No wonder viofo CS got confused when I requested to wait for the new rear before shipping mine. But they did mention HK6 is coming in July

Ah good pickup that makes a lot of sense now. In my testing of Imx675 cameras they haven't really had a problem with heat , but it's nice to see that they have at least included these ventilation holes since the Tele will most likely be mounted up front and exposed to the sun etc etc.

Quality of life improvements are welcome nonetheless, I'm not one to complain.

If that's true, and I've seen what's in the box he opened, then the photos on the landing page and for each product page don't help.

The Front + Rear 2CH shows a remote camera with no vents:

But any other variant that includes a rear camera shows a unit with vents, such as this one:
