VIOFO App Updates

While it's not much, the unit will be a 2ch unit but it's always possible things could change.

As long as that 2nd channel can be used as a rear, inside IR, or telephoto, that would be fine. And they standardised on one freaking connector.

While watching video files from the application, I noticed that there is no lock button.

On screen models, we can do this via the camera.

There is no subsequent locking or unlocking option for models without a screen.

It is necessary to add this to the application.

A second deficiency is that when you want to control videos via the camera, it is necessary to increase the functionality of the right and left keys. So, if I am going to go back 30 videos, instead of pressing the same button one by one, I need a solution that will quickly scan the file after 3 seconds by pressing and holding the direction button I want to go to, and stop when I release the button when I reach the section I want.

When I watched the live broadcast from the application, I saw that the A229 Pro rear camera image was reflected in low resolution.
Front and IR cameras can be viewed clearly. Only the application live stream resolution of the rear camera image should be increased. Recorded video recording is clearly.

I tried to update the A329 firmware with an old 2GB microSD - the it formatted and saved the file ok but the camera won't even turn on and didn't show any error messages. The update worked fine on the new card I was using to save videos but it wipes the card immediately after starting up.

After the firmware is updated and it reboots the dash camera, if the settings were defaulted by the firmware update, you'll be prompted for a couple of items. One of the items is the formatting of the microSD card. You can always decline the formatting of the memory card to retain the contents of the memory card.

The problem may be the 2GB when formatted defaulted to FAT16, try formatting the card to FAT32 on your PC. The FW size is about 90 meg, so the card size should not be an issue. After a successful flash, the dash cam OS will delete the FW file, if it did not do this, then on every power up the FW would reload itself.

It is possible the 2GB is faulty, or has a controller with a FW load that is not compatible with the A329.

I'm pretty sure that I formatted the 2GB with both FAT32 and exFAT and was able to record files on it too, but it was only when I saved the firmware file that caused it to not start up. I was already aware that the minimum recommended card size is 64GB but I thought that was just because the recordings are large, and the firmware update is under a GB. Maybe the camera should have ignored by file and continued to start up but with an error message.

Ohhh...if they made the app work in properly in landscape mode on my phone and tablet I will be very, very pleased. This is one of the app features I requested from VIOFO, so it is great they are listening to the customer base.

I didn't get a screen capture on my iPhone 15 Plus before upgrading the VIOFO app, but I was able to do that on my older iPad that's running iOS 17.

Woohoooo! I just updated the app on my iPad Pro M4 11 inch and this version of the app is a vast improvement for those of us that use landscape mode. @viofo can do one more thing to make the landscape mode absolutely perfect, I will show that in the two below images. When in landscape mode and looking at Camera Files, when doing a video playback the white bar at the top, which is seen for the portrait mode is missing from the landscape mode. If that white bar and its controls can be added in the landscape mode would be %100 perfect.
