VIOFO Wi-Fi Speed Test Database

Yes, I upgraded to an iPhone 15 Plus with the USB-C 2.0 connection port.
Congrats, have you tried to download a video clip from the A229 Pro lately to see if Viofo “streamlined” the process?
Or does it still require an IT certificate? Lol

No, I have not.

The iPhone 15 / 15 Plus have USB-C 2.0 connection ports. The iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max have USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connection ports. The cable included with the all iPhone 15 phones is only capable of USB-C 2.0 transfer speeds.
Lol welcome to the 21st century Apple users

I won’t be able to get an iPhone with a Type-C connector until Walmart sells the iPhone SE 4 for $199 on Black Friday 2025.
But your SE already has Wifi 6, no need for an upgrade, you are currently at the level of next year's dashcams on the important bits.
Nobody wants to use cables these days.

Did you finally upgrade from your iPhone 6S?
That was so old it was unsupported, with no more firmware updates; definitely time for an upgrade.

My wife's iPhone 6S and my iPhone 6S Plus were still receiving security updates, but they were restricted to running iOS 15.8.x. Definitely time for an upgrade. It's nice having phones with 5G connectivity.

Well I guess we're getting a bump in Wi-Fi transfer speeds with the next model.
I love it when Bill teases us with new advancements. lol

More than just a bump, the wifi download is going to make your SD card reader look slow!
He didn't say "Next Model" though, just an upcoming new model, which may be the next model, but he didn't actually say that it would be...

How much faster are we talking here, (2x, 10x)?
And why is the A129 Pro & A139 Pro faster than the A229 Pro?
13.5MB/s (433MB) 32 Seconds A129 Pro (2019)
11.8MB/s (437MB) 37 Seconds A139 Pro (2022)
9.8MB/s (430MB) 44 Seconds A229 Pro (2023)

From Bill's post: "Game Changer" fast

As in people won't be bothering to remove the memory cards any more, if they just want a few files.

I'm not sure anyone knows how fast yet, things tend to slow down as you add the other new features, so we will have to wait and see :censored:

Once they get it ironed out I expect Viofo to replace the included 50cm USB Type-A to Type-C data cable with the aforementioned Type-C to Type-C cable.
Such cable should be good also for powering the Viofo dashcam from the USB-C port of the car. After so many problems with dashcams because Skoda had permanent power on their cigarette lighter socket, they decided to put USB-C port at the mirror (as optional). I am sure other manufacturers even american ones are doing this. But right now it is a problem at least with the Skoda mirror USB-C port when using a standard USB-C to USB-C cable for powering a Viofo dashcam. It is still needed and USB-C to USB-A adapter and then the standard Viofo data cable. Maybe such adapter is not needed but only if short USB-C to USB-C short cables exist, but only for charging. But even with that the PD charging is creating problems.
For Viofo I consider this problem to be more important for the new cable.
Here’s the transfer speeds using the SD Card Reader downloading the same clips, (it's basically twice as fast) or 7X as fast for the WM1;
You should use the same order as above, based on dashcam models.

Like this?
If so, I fixed it.

This thread is about transfer speeds using Wi-Fi, and an SD Card "in the field" not a PC.
"Nobody" is taking their PC with them in the car do download clips, but "everyone" takes their smartphone when they drive somewhere.

Is it prohibited in this thread to show data transfer speed results using DVR and PC?
No.
You just made me very jealous because you have transfer speeds of 41.5MB/s, and I only have 18.7MB/s (A229 Pro). lol

You don't need a PC for that, an iPhone 15 Pro will work just as fast :)
