With rear, what’s best? 1080P on both or 1440 & 720?

Looking at getting the 522 and rear. Looking at specs, with the rear cam, it’s 1440 and 720 at 30fps, or 1080 and 1080 at 60fps.

Which is best that people who have them have experienced? Little disappointed that out drops in resolution, think need to go to 622 if want more.

Also I’m still pondering on the parking mode as it only records after a bump, does it actually catch incidents? Last dash cam had it recorded constantly when parked until battery dropped to a certain level.

Thanks

If the front sensor are 1440p i would for sure use that, but i would not use anything 720p, so in this case i would have to look at something else.
The latest cameras i have been testing have been 1440p both front and rear, at 30 FPS of course.

I bought my first dash cam 13 years ago and it was 1080p. That was around the time that most dash cams on the market were 720p and were about to become obsolete. These days even 1080p AKA "HD" is also becoming long in the tooth but is still viable. 1440 AKA "2K" is really the sweet spot resolution these days and 60 fps is fairly common. There are many good dual camera options on the market now with 1440p up front and 1080p in the rear.

720p is stone age technology at this point.

Yes 720 p is like bringing a knife to a gunfight, you do not want to go there.

So you wouldn’t recommend the 522 then? As it’s either or on the resolution. I agree 720 in 2023 is low really.
