GitUp F1: any good for dash cam use?

For A119 series, we are still tuning the IQ, and will have some good news in next month.
I agree with you for night recording should be done in 30fps.

Good to hear, my a119s is in transit, and hope to receive it soon. I expect it's a fw update you're talking about.

About fps in A119S, if we set it to 1080/60fps and night falls, does it shift down do 30fps automatically?

There's a 'dashcam' sample video uploaded today from the F1. Note that this is from a test version using an early firmware release.

Normally it will drop frames at night. If fixed frame, it will make night video very dark.

Hey  that's in Denmark.

Dropping down in FPS are fine in low light as long as there are no double frames, but that should not be the case with real FPS drop.

Right, it is in Denmark, the first sample is shipped to your country.:)

Thanks, is it just me or is this video not so good at all? Blocky, stuttery, unsharp??!?!

try reading the roadsigns.....

A bit further up the clip we find this sharp image, but standing still... :

Sun and shades in trees have something to do with it?

I've been checking other Youtube vid's, and they are all somewhat stuttery, while I have a 100Mb/s down stream....?!?!Beats me...

Any idea's?

For dashcam video, better to wait other owners feedback, soon you will see it.
The mount position, reflection will affect video quality. The user said: I do not use a dashcam, but just placed in on a piece of gecko in the car.

I think it will be better to wait until someone with current firmware can post an uncompressed original sample, rather than whatever process this video has been through to get on YouTube.
Do you know if your computer can play 4K files without stuttering (whether from YouTube or any other source)?

If capacitor-model is not possible. Is the F1 battery proprietary or is the same with the other Gitup (Git1 / Git2) cameras?

I think the battery is proprietary, see attachment. Best is to buy from a source which can offer the battery too when you buy the camera.

LB104 vs LB102 battery-.jpg

I see people wants 4K or 1080p 120FPS but the file sizes are large and the F1 bitrate is not so big for such resolutions/bitrate and can be even bigger.
A 1 minute video is almost 500MB.

That's a good bitrate for the 1080, but does it have matching quality?

Not so good a bitrate for the 4K, but it is the same bitrate used by the DJI Phantom 4 for 4K, we can't expect the 100+ mbps used by the Yi 4K+ given the price of the F1.

F1 have nice recordings. But I observed that the camera needs to not be moved too much, but this is not a problem when mounted as a dashcam.
Having just 1.2-1.5 hours on a 32GB is like making the dashcam just a blackbox which will save only the events and maybe latest 1-2-3 current videos. If the user is choosing 3 minutes loop videos then the camera should always reserve at least 5GB for loop videos if other space will be full with event files.

enjoy,
Mtz

Hey @gitup will the 90 degree lens be available for sale separately?
