English Firmware for 70Mai A500s

Thanks Lisabon for providing the firmware solution and Candela for summarizing the steps. You have helped alot of users like me, using a China version and making it work.

Anyone here using the China version with the english firmware 1.0.17ww, and parking surveillance feature able to work? I'm using the 70mai hardware kit for parking surveillance mode, however, there is no video recording during parking. Can anybody assist? Have enabled all the necessary settings, but still can't. Anybody who has success with the parking surveillance feature for the china version using the 1.0.17ww firmware?

Looks like a new update is available as per the 70mai app, previous version being 1.5.27ww:

1.6.39ww
2024-09-03

1. Fixed the issue of device restarting caused by the SD card in certain scenarios.
2. Fixed the issue of frequent device restarts under high-temperature conditions.
3. Fixed other known issues.

Updated my dashcam and all looks to be working fine. No issues to report. I don't use parking surveillance mode FYI

Just some update, I downloaded the 1.0.10 and installed, it still can't connect to app.
The Chinese version app says "Connection failed, this device is not supported in the region, please contact the seller to replace." So obviously, 70 Mai sets some hardware ID to tell whether it is an international hardware, and Chinese app would work for it.
And I also tried the international version app, it says " Not connected to the logger hotspot Please connect manually", so basically it wouldn't recognize the Chinese firmware wifi.
So I guess for now, if I want to enjoy the voice control, I will sacrifice the app connection. Hope 70 mai may fix the voice control issue in the international version soon, and I will flash back then.
BTW, I really like the welcoming and helpful environment in this forum, I hope I may contribute to the community someday. Thanks!

did you managed to resolve this issue? i just got mine today and it was working fine.and then the update software popped up and i said yes.once that was done the dashcam itself said firmware issue need to update, hence i resolved that and then my dashcam could not reconnect with the app. exact same thing as you.

may i know whats the procedure? to get the new update. I just got mine yesterday, it was working fine. until I updated it and everything went downwards. dashcam said firmware mismatch. I factory reset it and dashcam works now. but the app on the other hand refuses to connect anymore. I used the chinese version and international version both did not work.
 
i think after update 1.6.39ww , camera no work corectly , the video has 720p after update.... before update shows great... now show a 720p 🙁
 
I think this is getting abit out of hand for myself.
With most of you all, i get the issue similarly after update via phone. Such regret.

I formatted the card, put the FW into the root and put into cam, doesn't blink blue.
-Tried with button as one of the video, doesn't blink blue.
-Format to NTFS, doesn't work
-Format back to exFat, doesn't work
-Tried different FW, doesn't work.

Darn this Mismatch is driving me crazy. It for my mom's car.

Is it because I formatted, and that's the issue?
Unless some original folders are inside?
 
I recently bought A500s from China. once turn on i seen all in Chinese and worked only for Chinese APK and not in play store app. With in few mins it shows an firmware upgrade i did it successfully via Chinese version app.

Current version : 1.3.22
Date: 2023.12.12

Anyways i need to upgrade this to international. What is the correct firmware to flash. Kindly send the post number of it.

I registered to this forum just to say thanks lisabon! I was waiting for this update since I was running 1.0.17ww. Now finally I was able to update to 1.6.39ww.

So far everything is working great. I'm hoping to see an improvement regarding the restarts on high heat environments. That's one of the things I disliked about the camera and what kept me from using it in parking mode, because I needed to remove it from the dash when parking in the sun, as it became unusable when coming back.
 
Hi everybody , in your opinion which is the best firmware overall that is stable and works best for the Parking Mode, I find the latest fw version 1.6.39ww very bad when it comes to detecting a "bump" in parking mode , I wish I could try another old fw , do you have 1.3.22ww from 2023.12.12 , I read here someone mentioned that they made the G sensor more sensible with that version. Thanks .

No, unfortunately I didn't. I'll try and test it in the coming days.
 
I brought camera today and before place it to my car I played with it.
I tried while was to blue light to move camera and began recording.
After that I updated to 1.7.45 and placed to my car.
I have the rear and front camera without the kit.
When I connected camera to my car began recording. Camera records alla the time while has power. I believed that camera begans recording under sircutam special conditions and not all the time.

Why camera begins recording when open it and doesn't stop?
Can you help me? Is there any mode at the settings which I don't know?
 
If I downgrade to another firmware version will solve my problem. I bought to Greece so I believe it's international firmware. Where can I check it?

The rear camera switching function has been added to the APP.
Add GPS time synchronization function (configurable in the APP).
Fixed other known issues.
