Vueroid Meetup - March 2025

Why do most companies sell rear and front cameras together and not offer the option to purchase only a front camera? So if we want we can use a 4K separate dashcam instead.

Example? You can always NOT use the rear camera for Higher Resolution and Frame rate...

I met Harry Rhim at CES 2025.
He said the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite will be available in 1-CH, 2-CH, and 3-CH configurations.

Vueroid is rather tight lipped about the file system, other than a brief description of its presence. Likely a journaling file system of some type with possible file writes to NV memory and then files moved to the SDXC card would be my guess. On power up there would be a checksum test to validate file system and last file write and then file reconciliation if needed. A bit expensive process wise with multiple channels, but if designed properly from the start then it is doable. But that is all a guess, driven by my curiosity. ๐Ÿ™‚
It was told in another forum about Vueroid S1. I hope this explains the file system Vueroid has a bit.
The link in blue below may give you a rough idea about it.
I was considering publishing a kind of white paper about the file system, but I changed my mind about exposing too much in public.
It will benefit the customers, and they will recognize its goodwill.

A long paragraph may be required to explain it in detail.

Vueroid had been concerned about the longevity of the customer's SD card (NAND Flash Memory), as the file system was a result of this.
Due to the characteristics of NAND, typical use -writing, deleting, and re-writing- can lead to significantly high usage of specific memory blocks, which affects the lifespan of the entire NAND flash.
People use NAND, such as USB flash memory, to store their data and read it.
They occasionally delete and rewrite, but not in the manner that a Dashcam does.

Basically, it is a bit different from Vueroid's patented file system(TFF), but it will give a rough idea about it.
Please refer to the link. It is about the Zoned Storage File system by WD.
It is quite a similar concept, and Vueroid has considered the common usage of the application of Dashcam.
There are pros and cons anyway.

Here s link to @rcg530 ces video.
At the bottom of this post.

I have taken some screen shots to help clarify my previous posts.
Power plug circular assuming it would use 5Volts

The unit I'm referring to.

Ear plug looking sockets which could mean they are using analog cameras and would like clarification.

patent file system! What is the patent number?
If it is the solution to prevent file corruption for ever I'm all in. It would be nice to know what they have done to back up their claims.

Ok we can do this now with .ts files but they're bigger than what is expected these days.

Most of my conclusions based on his early exposure to this equipment. Of course this could change considerably at anytime.

@Vueroid
Using 12V power.
If the main unit is detached from the cradle, USB-C can be used for power input, 5V.

What happens if you connect both? ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Well i have personally been in this game for a while, and i have never had a wire or plug go bad on me on its own, only happened when thief Yanked in wires / mirror

BUT ! I will have to admit in the early days on the 2 channel systems, a lot of people was having that kind of problems with the remote rear camera, and i will admit i find it very strange i have not CUZ often i have just " thrown " in new systems and so routing and install of wires could have been more thoughtful.

The file system that you're patenting would it be similar to the file method that g-net uses?

Yeah i remember GNET claimed to have something similar when i talked to them before the great flu.
If GNET have not patented, well free to swoop in and do so, i have seen that a few times with other hobbies, not that i like it CUZ the swoop in and patent company not nice and it end up as a loss for the hobby.

Doesn't appear to be the same, but I can't find a detailed explanation of either!

This description does not match the Vueroid description:

GNET uses a JDR file system and is very close to something that is similar to RAID. Not a bad file system at all, but does require a specific video viewer and needs to be exported to be used in other OS systems.

@Vueroid

That gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling about your file system. If you are reworking a system that is a derivative of the NVME protocol that is acceptable, to me anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

One request though, please design and release a Telephoto lens that can be used in place of the Interior or Rear camera.

Now, I just wish you guys would hurry up and release the S1, I have money to give you!!

Well i do hope toy expect to be getting something in return, CUZ if not, well you are honorary Danisn politician material, our guys just get off so big time spending other peoples money, and any form of return is not really necessary.

U.S. politicians are not any different, even at the local level they find any reason to raise tax or to increase cost of services. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for VUEROID, I think they are going to do well with the S1 in North America, they have listened to many of us that have offered opinions. We Americans will need to learn to 'think Korean' when using their products. I know, that sounds odd, but I can tell you that many times we look at products from various countries and we know that each product has a design pattern behind it that is unique to each country. It is a bit like software, we understand the Adobe way, and then there is the GIMP way, and other various ways that are unique to software. No different in hardware devices.

I vivid remember my first proper 1080p dashcam, the Lukas LK7500.
My god it had a high contrast / sharpness setting.
Not had a Korean system since that so been quite a while.

Q: Does the S1 4K Infinite support Loop Record setting 1 / 2 / 3 / 5 / 10 Minutes?
Or does it ONLY have 1 Minute Loop Record?
