I haven't tried it before, but the T800 parking monitor shouldn't light up like the A329, right?

Viofo calls their Super Night Vision , 70mai calls theirs something else but it's essentially the same thing on the X800. I would imagine the T800 would have the same thing, as they are similar hardware

I ran three LPID parking mode tests with the videos being multiplexed.

The first test was a 3-channel test.

Impact time 15:13:59:93.
Record start time: 15:14:02:73.
Time from impact to first frame in 3-channel multiplexed video file: 2.80 seconds.
Time from impact to when the red record dot appears on the screen: 2.90 seconds.

The second test was a 2-channel test [interior camera turned off in A329S settings].

Impact time 15:46:59:96.
Record start time: 15:47:02:58 [front] / 15:47:02:62 [rear].
Time from impact to first frame in 2-channel multiplexed video file: 2.62 seconds [front] / 2.66 seconds [rear]
Time from impact to when the red record dot appears on the screen: 2.79 seconds.

The third test was a 2-channel test [interior camera turned off in A329S settings].

Impact time 15:49:00:06.
Record start time: 15:49:02:64 [front] / 15:49:02:66 [rear].
Time from impact to first frame in 2-channel multiplexed video file: 2.58 seconds [front] / 2.60 seconds [rear]
Time from impact to when the red record dot appears on the screen: 2.75 seconds.

I already wrote somewhere about this feature and its possible problems. You can add a delay after turning off the car engine and enter the parking mode and in this way to avoid closing the door when leaving the car. But you will not have any solution when you will enter the car and the camera is in LPID mode.
This announcing feature was a request, it was not originated by Viofo. Maybe Viofo added that feature to see how it is working but after analysing the overall situation they can consider that it will add more claims than benefits. Also I agree to not implement such a feature which will make some people yelling on forums or internet because they have false alarms.

Let me rephrase.

1. After the car engine is turned off and camera enter parking mode, any parking event triggered within the next 90 seconds, including closing the door, should not be notified.
This may complement or replace the existing 90 sec parking delay.
- Basically, any parking event, say, within 90 seconds of entering parking mode, will not be notified

2. Opening the door and entering the car while the camera is in LPID mode, or in LBR mode which I prefer, will trigger a parking event, however any parking event, say, 90 seconds before the ignition is turned on and camera enter normal recording mode, should not be notified.
- Basically, any parking event, say, within 90 seconds before the ignition is turned on and entering normal recording mode, will not be notified

Hopefully, implementing these time limits won't be too difficult, as the existing settings have many time limits implemented in various features.

That's seems like a really good idea/option to have 👍 Although if you open the car just to put something in then walk away you will still trigger an event

The blackvue dashcams had/have a event notification feature, but after all the false positives I learnt to ignore it, and just check the car for damage (if possible) when returning

I suspect that is one reason why Viofo are wary of including notifications.

If notifications are off by default, and can be enabled as an option, that might work for more people.

If the notification were really annoying, like chirping for a minute, then for certain I would turn it off. If it was a one time announcement of "parking impact detected", then I probably would leave it on.

Hopefully, implementing these time limits won't be too difficult, as the existing settings have many time limits implemented in various features.

The #1 has already been implemented in testing firmware.

We can offer this feature in future testing versions.

All true; humans have a habit of not reading the instructions and then complaining, or not using VIOFO support, which is excellent. They do not even bother to register the dash cam, much less read that they gain additional warranty time by registering a VIOFO dash cam. They make a post on YT and moan and complain and it looks bad for who ever the company is.

Some of this could be prevented if during the setup of parking impact, the user was required to check a Yes box, or a No box for audible alerts. At least that way the user consciously knows to expect, or not expect an alert. Leave the choice for audible alerts to appear randomly in a different section of the menu would enable the user to be "dumb" about the feature.

As a avid phone hater i am not big on notifications, But too mu surprise when they come from my dashcam i do not mind.
Of course if the system spammed me in notifications that would probably change, but i have yet to experience that with any system.

The time it takes to start recording video after the impact event [monitored by GoPro 20 recording at 240 fps] is almost identical to the A329S configuration with the interior camera. Those results are what I would expect as well.

Nope it is not according to specs.

I have not tested yet.

Been focusing on stability. Have not even looked at video quality. I know Viofo will always come good on video quality. So my focus is on stability

When you get a chance can you post a photo showing the location of the two IR Interior cameras, (how close they are to each other)?
It looks like you mounted them as close as possible to each other, I'm just curious I'd they are side by side, or on top of each other.

I just noticed everything out the rear windows is overexposed on the A329S.
The A229 Pro is not overexposed.
Can this be fixed with HDR / Lens Adjustment / Image Quality Improvement, etc?
